Topic: Urine testing = welfare check | |
---|---|
Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me.
I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their A--, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? |

Omgshh, you are right on! lol I never saw it that way.

Would the cost of all those urine tests at certain intervals of time negate the cost to the tax payers? Have you worked out the math on this? Then, how do they compel people to show up at a place to tinky-winky? The water bill alone will balloon. Not sure this is quite the answer, either.

Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? can you imagine how much money would be saved not dealing with illegal immigrants that don't pay taxes? look at southern California. Our state has lower tax revenues and illegals are not paying their taxes and taking jobs from taxpayers that are citizens. Why? This is libtard socialism at its zenith. coming to a state of dysfunction near you. Just One State This is only one State................If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will! From the L. A. Times.............. 1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L.A.County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card. 2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens. 3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens. 4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers. 5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally 6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages. 7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are mostlikely illegal aliens from south of the border. 8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal. 9. 21 radio stations in L.A.are Spanish speaking. 10. In L.A.County 5.1 million people speak English,3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in L.A.County. ) (All 10 of the above are from the Los Angeles Times) Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens. We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue This is only one State............... If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will! and you wonder why Nancy Pelosi wants them to become voters! |

please add 10% additional amount of your income to pay for the unconstitutional testing you wish to institute
and yes it is unconstitutional to perform the tests they perform as random now reasonable cause yes reasonable cause ------ Amendment 4 - Search and Seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am4 ----- first line is The right of the people to be secure in their persons then against unreasonable searches what part of that is so hard to understand confuses me anyone involved in the passing of mandatory random testing should be tried for treason and shot if/when found quilty |

Well and not only the cost to test people but you have to consider this is a discriminatory factor. You are assuming prejudicially that there are more people on welfare who are druggies than in normal society, wrong. Then adj hit the nail on the head. Are these people less deserving of the civil rights of all of us because they need help? So a hurricane knocks your house down and your job is not working you because of the hurricane and now you need government help and you are suddenly less of a citizen? |

The problem I have is all the people who get welfare and let it become a way of life rather than getting off their lazy duff to get a job. I'm a struggling single mom but do I get help when I need it? Why heck no! But they sure don't mind taking the money I work hard for to try and put food on my own table and give to those too lazy to work for their own! Sure I realize there are people who need it.. but there are too many on it that are too lazy to get a job because our government makes it too easy for them NOT to!

i'll go you one better ...i dont think that anyone should be forced to take any test that will incriminate them ..but because the laws on self incrimination existed before urine testing existed we are left with having to do it
wake up..urine tests and breathe analyzers and blood test are forms of self incrimination but the laws wont reflect it because it gives "them" more control.. some may not like my answer but rights are rights and should be made to reflect the times...on both sides..jmo |

Actually the government has been making it more difficult to be on welfare. There is a time limit now. My state may have a 5 yr. cap and one must be taking job training while receiving it. |

Regardless of the fact that it would be a violation of someone's constitutional rights, I can't even begin to imagine (a) the cost and (b) the logistics of instituting a program such as this.
I understand your point but the solution is unworkable. |

I have personally tried for assistance myself. I sat there for several hours watching people come and go. I can tell you that the majority of the people I saw come through looked perfectly capable of holding down a job just as well as I can. I also work for a doctor and have people who can work constantly trying to get disability just because they don't want to work. So, I have been closer to this subject than I'd like to be!

Quite often people look healthy and are not.
I know people with 50% heart of their heart working and people hollaring at them because they are in disabled parking. Then there people with partial lung capacity. There's MS and AIDS. Some people have mental illnesses. You can't see that. I could give more examples but that would take too long. You cannot possibly know people's problems just by looking at them. The fact that you didn't receive Welfare shows that it is not so easy to obtain. The one's that try to sneak into the system are the minority. Some people are only a paycheck away from Welfare. Lord, forbid, if they have a medical emergency. |

This is correct. Clinton instituted Welfare Reform in the 90s. I help to bring it into being here and I can vouch there is no more life long welfare and no laying on your duff to get it either. |

kudos to single parents.
I am one too. my industry, construction, is sufferng the free lunch program of free houses to democrats at the lower end of the cess pool to vote democrat as a bribe. they mostly lost their free lunch homes. Now Congress and the Fed want to bailout those idiot homeowners. well what about bailing out construction workers that have no work becuase of the libtard free lunch program? they are trying to foist another free lunch program onto us with this bailout morphing into a refinance instrument for comrade faithful. I love how the rise in unemployment is attributed to jobs going off shore lately. I am laughing my butt off at the idea that bush's policies have caused the rise in unemployment, and no lip service is given toi the facts. The construction industry will be dead until the country selols off all of the foreclosed homes that tanked the economy, and not before. Supply and demand balance will not occur until that unwinds completely. How about free homes for tradesmen and craftsmen that through unemployment are also losing their homes which they have had for many years? I see that all the time. not me, though, thankfully. But still, how do these liars expect unemployment to decline and productivity to increase when the construction industry is dead in the water and rusting away in inactivity? Single parents and hard working honest Americans with families are getting left out in these free lunch programs for socialist voters and the poor base of the democratic party that squander the hard earned tax dollars of us, the working patriotic American. Who cares? certainly not our self preening representatives in WASHINGTON. God bless the single parent. No one else will |

If you refuse a urinalysis at your place of work, you are well within your rights to do so. But, your employer is well within its right to refuse you a paycheck. Same with a breathalyzer if you are pulled over for suspicion of dui. Contrary to most people's beliefs, you have to give your consent to the breathalyzer test (and/or blood, urine etc). You CAN refuse. But, there are consequences to that action, of course. If you refuse, the state has the right to assume that the police officer is correct in his assessment of your impaired function and they have the right to pull your license until your case comes to trial. If you are acquitted, you get it back. If not, well, then you'll lose it anyway. |

Would the cost of all those urine tests at certain intervals of time negate the cost to the tax payers? Have you worked out the math on this? Then, how do they compel people to show up at a place to tinky-winky? The water bill alone will balloon. Not sure this is quite the answer, either. I searched a bit and found this: Two general methods of testing are immunoassay or radioimmunoassy (RIA) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Immunoassay is used for initial screening of many drugs, like amphetamines, marijuana (cannainoid or THC), cocaine, opiates, and phencyclidine (PCP). However, GC-MS is the acceptable industry standard testing procedure for steroids and for confirming any positive test results. The cost for each immunoassay screening package ordered to test for all the drugs listed above typically costs $20 to $50. To also test for alcohol, nicotine (tobacco), and LSD typically adds another $10 per substance per screening test ordered. Including anabolic steroids in the initial screening would cost between $80 and $120 per test ordered because GC-MS is required to test for steroids and is a more expensive testing procedure. All positive results of initial tests should be confirmed by GC-MS. Thus, a higher percentage of initial positives drives up the cost of a testing program. So yeah it's pretty expensive, I guess it would be cheaper to test them once, then quit paying them. Peace Out!!! |
