Topic: Do You Like Being Disturbed? | |

Have you seen these warnings on some shows. "The preceding may disturb some viewers." Would you watch a show even though you have been warned that it may disturb you?

All the time.

Are you worried that if you watch the show that it may mean that you are disturbed?

Are you worried that if you watch the show that it may mean that you are disturbed? Naw. It's too late to worry about that. |
|
|
|
Now I find that disturbing.

But...seriously...don't CSI and shows like that use those warnings? I considered them to mean that children shouldn't be watching them. |

I would agree with you but I would want more details of why the shows may be disturbing especially if I had small children with me.

Ok, seriously... That describes about 80% of the tv I watch.

Wow!! Does that mean I am disturbed because I watch mostly horror movies and forensic-type tv shows?? I love every minute of it!! By the way, if you don't want your children to see this stuff then don't watch it in front of them!!!!

I would agree with you but I would want more details of why the shows may be disturbing especially if I had small children with me. Hadn't thought about it but I have figured that was enough to go on. My own child had once told me that they had turned the TV off. I asked why. They said that it said it would disturb viewers and that meant that they weren't supposed to watch it. |

That is a smart kid.

That is a smart kid. Why, thank you. |

hmmm...maybe it's a tactic to get MORE people to watch.
*if there's a warning...it must be good* |

I was thinking something similar, Becca. It is like an enticement. I guess one could call it infamous programming.
