A stereo has
Buttons that require pushing,
Knobs that require turning,
Sometimes a disk must be inserted;
And we tune-in to music.

A television has
Buttons that require pushing
And we tune-in to visuals and sound.

The internet has
A computer again with
Buttons that require pushing,
A connection must be made through waves I won’t try to describe,
And we tune-in to darn near anything we want to.

We have
Hearts, Bodies, and Souls,
And we tune-in to each other……………………………….......

After thought: Waves of Electricity(Energy) required by all of the above.



Proof positive - an instance remembered

As he leans over the pool table,
His eyes calculating on his next shot.
A stranger blocks her vision of him.

The stranger rattles off
Some mundane BS
In an attempt to draw her attention.
She verbally responds before she catches
The calculating look on this stranger’s face.

Annoyed at her lack of observation,
She readjusts her attitude of openness
To that of shut down and block out mode.

The stranger moves to the side
Restoring her vision of the pool player and his shot.
The stranger, still too close for her comfort, babbles
On about some childhood remembrance,
Then shuffles off at her lack of attention.

Meanwhile, the pool cue connects with the cue ball.
A crack like that of a shot rings out
As the cue ball connects with another ball on the table.

The pool player straightens back up
And she notices the hard line of his jaw
As frigid air exudes from his direction,
Oddly comforting to her in the heat of the bar.

He missed his shot.
Surprising to her?
Not really, the missed shot and the frigid air
Confirm where his attention was truly tuned in.
