Topic: I'm so tired of IMAGE!!! | |
---|---|
I recently cut my hair off and went natural. I have a cute face, I dont
wear make-up but I do notice a difference between the attention I got when my hair was permed and styled as opposed to my natural--lets face it, kinky hair. I get so sick and tired of thinking I need to appear this way to this group and that way to that group. America is so caught up in vanity its frustratin-- and I'd be lying if I said it didnt phase me, cuz it does. That "beauty is on the inside" is all crap too, cause lets be honest: when you're lookin for someone of the opposite sex appearance does initially matter, you get to the important stuff later Ugh! It just wont end! |

hey monique i agree with you looks are on the inside not on the
outside. but you know change is good. do it for you noone else, if it makes u feel good about your self do it. the other people will get used to it eventually. ok. |

The people who love you love WHO you are. Everyone else dosent matter.
The funny thing about self esteem is it dosent have anything to do with the way OTHERS view you its how you view YOURSELF. Be happy with that and trust me you will glow with beauty. |

The world is full of shallow people -- it's EASIER to be shallow,
requires less thought and effort, you never really have to develop feelings or care about anyone or anything. It's all surface, no depth, no "reality," just a facade. I like to use the term "cardboard cutout" to describe the people I met on MySpace, for example, because that's about as much depth as they had. Someone who is worth knowing will see past any surface -- good or bad -- and look for the reality beneath, the real person, the heart and mind that makes a person unique and real. Be who you are, who you want to be. Anyone who judges you solely by outward appearance is not worth wasting your time on, anyway. Those people's opinions shouldn't mean anything to you, anyway, since you -- the person you are, the real person inside -- doesn't mean anything to them. |
