Topic: Have you ever been in a helicopter? | |

Oh man! I don't care if there is a seat belt where the heck is the door! Do they leave them off so it's easier to escape?
I've been in one once as a kid and I still think of it. It's funny my dad's Cessna didn't bug me but that whirlybird? "Get me out of here!" |

See, I always thought they left that door off so when they get tired of you they can just tip it over and dump you out

Actually my daughter and I went on a helicopter ride out at Turner Falls in Ok. It was great flying over the falls and all.
But.........I'm scared of heights and low and behold where did they put me but in the seat where there was no door. We had helmets on with a mic so we could all talk to each other. Hummm when the pilot decided to take a sharp left over the falls and yes that was on my side. By the time I got through I thought he was gonna fall in the floor laughing for I was giving him hell Hey at least he said it was one of the more interesting rides he had and sure gave him a good laugh shshhshhsh |

It's pretty easy to tell the white-knuckle types from the thrill seekers. I'd do it again but *gulp*, it would be another adrenaline rush. I wonder if a helicopter is good for a date? As long as she is sitting next to you and not the pilot hmmm maybe.... |

I was in one being air-lifted to a hospital . I do not really recall the ride. Wow, just as well. That must have been life threatening. Glad you are ok. I used to have dreams of being on a medi-vac when I was a child. It always ended with them wheeling me inside the hospital. |

I'm a private pilot so being in the air in a tin can is something I'm used to. But the sensation of being in a rotary and doing what I can only describe as a 'hammer head', really had me holding on to the seat. It was great fun though.
