...as we know it!! tomorrow(swiss time), a new particle accelerator will go on-line at CERN in Switzerland. the machine is 27 miles (60 kilometers?) in diameter and runs thorough Switzerland and France. if everything works right, it's supposed to accelerate atoms to 99.9% of light speed (i can't do it, Captain!) and then smash them together!! the scientists say they are looking for the Higgins Bosun AKA the God particle, it's the stuff everything is made of. the experiments are supposed to help us learn the secrets of the universe(like manipulating gravity) and lead to sci fi stuff like tractor beams. opponents say that it's going to create a miniature Black Hole and the Earth will get sucked into it!! the first tests are only supposed to be speed tests and no colliding. i wouldn't worry until they do a test on 12/24/2012!!!

Oh no! If the particals burn up, wouldn't that just leave an ash hole!

All I would expect is something the likes of an atom bomb. Good luck to them and us.

You know, this new particle accelerator is starting to sound like the first chapter of a Stephen King novel....scared

Why can't they just attach one to a snail? That would be a particle accelerator...Cuz it would be going faster than it was prior... Hmmmm...

End of the world predictions are profit bearing.

I do know about somethings. I usually do not write about such things but i feel an importantance in it. I have written preditions many on here that has come true.

This is a warning about Hurricane IKe.

Thier are conditions that the weather sercice or our govt. are not speaking of.

Hurrican Ike if you remember when it was in open water before they said that day it had exploded from a cat 1 to a cat 4.

This is very real and even more possible now.

Why do I say this? Who on here knows what happens to the ocean on a Full Moon? The whole earth as far as that goes. The Full moon will commence on the 15th 2 days before it is predicted to hit land fall.

The oceans rises alot as the moon is pulling it up. 2 days is nothing in the full moon phase.

They are calling for 135mph winds on the 12th and 105 when it hits land fall.

Shore warch it thursday night, It may explode because of the moon to a cat 5 a strong cat 5 with the warm water being pulled upward by the moon cycle. Call me crazy i do not care but we are going to see something very terrific with the signs that are in place. Remember your loved ones..Miles

Here is the reality.

First thing it is the Higgs boson, not the Higgins boson. It is theorized to be the particle that gives matter mass. (ie what makes all matter particles interact with gravity, giving us mass, and allowing gravity to effect us)

Second I know its very strange and sounds very dangerous as soon as someone mentions black holes. Here are the facts. The energy that is being produced in particle collisions in our atmosphere (Cosmic rays) every day are more energetic than what will be produced at the LHC.

So if mini black holes are being produced in our atmosphere then they are certainly not causing us any harm. After billions of years of these black holes you would think if there was even a chance of one hanging around and getting bigger then we all would have been eaten long ago. . .

The math says if* they are created then they will expel all of there energy very quickly in the form of hawking radiation, and evaporate nearly instantly.

*(big if BTW it depends on the scale of energy needed, two theories, one places this scale low (within the energy of the LHC) the other requires astronomical amounts of energy doubtful we will ever produce)

So in conclusion, the only outlets of information that are even acknowledging a potential disaster, are either
a) completely ignorant
b) just trying to sensationalize to exploit ignorant people and make a buck.

I guess anything could mean the end of the world to someone who is looking for it. So good luck on your search maybe one day you will get lucky and actually hit paydirt but if history is correct you will die looking for the end of the world like all others before you. JMO of course.

And what I mean here is that if you live your life looking for the end of it, how can you enjoy what you have today?

Watch Ike they have already upgrade predictions to a 4 and a It will grow more.

Drawing energy from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the strengthening storm was expected to blow ashore early Saturday somewhere between Corpus Christi and Houston, with some forecasts saying it could become a fearsome Category 4, with winds of at least 131 mph.

Such a storm could cause a storm surge of 18 feet in Matagorda Bay and four to eight feet in Galveston Bay, emergency officials warned. The surge in Galveston Bay could push floodwaters into Houston, damaging areas that include the nation's biggest refinery and NASA's Johnson Space Center.

They are not saying anything about the rise of the water from the near full moon.. This can have a great affect on this hurricane. I would get out if i was anywhere remotely close. Hope for the Best..Miles
