so i was having a discussion with my best friend about being single (shes happily engaged) and she told me while i continune to loose weight that i need to "keep apprences up" by fixing my hair and wearing make up!

well i dont know if its me being more or what but i thought shouldnt a person love/like me if i wear make up or not?

i mean ill be the first person to admitt i probally need to acting soo much like a tom boy how ever i will not give up video games.

but anyway im rambling again,isnt that a lil shallow?heck im known to walk into work on the weekends in my frog flannel pjs pants and an oversized shirt.

cuz well lets face it ive got an authority problem and im and outcast in society so i was wondering should i even worry about my hair and make up everyday?

Looking like a slob everyday isn't getting you anywhere. It's a fact that people are judged by the way you look. Sad reality.

I have to agree here. I mean yes a person should like you for who you are. But unfortunately we live in a society that judges by a persons looks. Not saying that you have to be the next top model or anything. But to me looking good helps me feel more confident about myself. And if you dress in public in your PJ's what kind of person are you expecting to attract? You are pretty much saying that you do not give a crap. And if you do not give a crap then how is anybody else expect to?

It depends on if you are LOOKING for someone. If you are LOOKING then YES, do the hair and make-up thing.

If you are WAITING on someone to find YOU, or waiting on someone to like you for YOU. Then heck no, stick to the same old routine.

You might be surprised however, if you were to do your make-up, have your hair done and get all dressed up and go out one night .... that you find you ENJOY the extra attention you get.

i mean i dress up alot and ill wear make up now and then but im a nerd i play video games and i love technology but ill seem to attract are really old guy and losers and im not sure why

There is nothing wrong with liking technology and video games. But try doing your make up for a couple of weeks and see how you feel and what happens. Trust me, I bet you will like the out come.

if thats what you attract then maybe you need to make a change. your losing wieght to make your heatlh and looks better . why not make a slight adjustment and attract or try to attract the kind of guy your looking for? change starts with you inside first outside last. you can still be who you are but improved or small adjustments. good luck .

Just think about how u would feel towards a guy if he didn't keep his appearances up... even tho they don't take quite as long as us girls, we're usually attracted to the ones who take a bit of time on themselves to look presentable. Plus, when ppl feel that they look good, they're usually more confident, and more of themselves - very attractive, wouldn't u say? :D

alot of men don't like make up.I myself do wear makeup but I wear it in a way that still looks natural.I wear it for me because I want to.

I am the same way. I just like how it makes me feel and yes also do not wear much. Just some mascara, eyeliner, cover up and lip gloss and I am good to go.

well nobody in my family really wears it and my friends do so i get crap from my family for wearing it sometimes and my friends is telling me to wear it more i just dont wanna be ummm whats that word...shallow and stuff lol

Yea make-up isn't always a plus for people.

Look, society doesn't exist. However, guys like their visuals. You need to give them something to look at, like skin and movement. No big mystery is us.
