Start with a greeting Then add a few important and interesting facts about yourself.(this will make you more personable and give him a clue as to who you are) Then ask a few not too invasive questions about him. (this will give him something to say in his email back to you.) Then a short close that leaves communication open...example: Until next time....or ...excited to hear more about you... ok now start typing
