To be fair to Lesnar, he may be a former pro wrestler, and I'm sure there are a large number of people out there who will criticize him solely because of that. It's rather an easy way out.
But the fact of the matter is that Lesnar has a legitimate athletic background. He was a 2-time NCAA champion, so it's likely he has the skills to succeed in MMA, given the proper coaching and experience. It was, what, his second MMA match, and against a more experienced fighter, so he'd be expected to lose. Not because he's a former pro wrestler, but because he's entering a new game. He got the fight because there was money to be had. Sure, he's inexperienced, and a less famous combatant might not have gotten the same opportunity, but mma is a business just like any other, and in business, money is the bottom line. Lesnar just needed a few more breaks, breaks that a man with more experience would have been better able to exploit. Plain and simple, while Lesnar may be a "phony" wrestler, if he had managed to cinch Couture, that would have been it. |

i like ihm, but im still gonna be happy when silva gets KOed. the sport needs conflict and hope. alot of the fighters are losing their edge, like chuck after rampage,ugh. i still hate to watch that. lol. whcih reminds me, for gods sake fighters keep it away form the judges hands!
