Hi Suzanne Love and prayers for you and Brett I found a website you may be interested in. It is thebandofmothers.com
It's pretty awesome, check it out. Us moms need to stick together
Hello Journey.. How are you? Haven't forgotten you.. You are always in my prayers and my heart.. Just so much going on..that I am having a hard time getting to talk to you, Repunzel,Terry, and others.. I'll be around soon though... All my Love Suzanne Thank u for that site..will look it up.. I enjoyed the 1 Repunzel posted but there is never anyone on.. I light more candles..then get lost in the site..lol Hugs
No problem...I'm trying to stay busy...and trying to be patient. We don't know where my son is going to be stationed yet, and at the same time they are now saying he may be going overseas before Christmas. We are praying for that NOT to happen. The beginning of the year is going to be soon enough for me to have both my boys over there! I am also praying that they don't deploy my daughter in law again too. That would not be good! I am only one mom...I can't be in two places at one time, lol. Take care and remember you are in my prayers! God Bless!

THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR OUR SOLDIERS
Today we gather around the dinner table with family and friends to share good food, warm laughter, and the happy memories of Thanksgivings past. But for many families, whose loved ones serve in the Armed Forces, this year's Thanksgiving celebration will not be complete.
A familiar voice will not be heard and a chair at the table will remain empty because, they have someone far from home serving our country.
Today also, members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Airforce and Coastguard (men and women, Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard alike) will gather in mess halls or in tents across the globe as friends and comrades to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
So, as those of us who are blessed to be with our families celebrate and give thanks,
let us remember in our prayers the homes that have an empty chair at the table and also offer a special prayer of thanksgiving and ask God’s Blessings for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, whose service and sacrifice will, we further pray, make the world a better and safer place.
And a very special prayer dear God, for those homes that have an empty chair that will forever remain vacant and for those servicemen and women who have come back to us,
may their sacrifice not have been in vain.
THANKSGIVING PRAYER Oh God, when I have food, help me remember the hungry. When I have a home, help me remember the homeless. When I am with friends and family who love me, help me remember those who are friendless and shunned. And remembering, help me destroy my complacency, move my heart and reach out by word and deed to those who cry out for what we take for granted.

Today I am happy that I send a 36 lb box to my son and his Marine brothers.. yet...I feel so goddamed depressed.... As mush as I want to write and send things..it is so hard to send to Iraq,, I much preferr to send to Camp L. or to his home..he will evenually have with his wife in May 09.. I am so confused about why I feel this way.. Why after talking with him I go into such a low... I just want him to come home safely in May...

(((Suzanne))) It's normal to feel that way!! We don't want our sons and daughters to be overseas! We want them home with us and their families. Doing what they do best, here at home. Just pray for them daily, that they will be safe and come home soon! And be proud of him!! Also, remember, you are not alone, and anytime you need to vent or just want to talk, their are others of us in the same situation that will gladly lend a shoulder to lean on and will listen, and probably cry, right along with you!!

A Soldier's Christmas Prayer
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS , HE LIVED ALL ALONE , IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE . I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL ABOUT , A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE, NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND, ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS . WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS ,
A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT , IT WAS DARK AND DREARY, I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER, ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING, SILENT, ALONE , CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE, THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER, NOT HOW I PICTURED A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ? CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT , OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT .
SOON ROUND THE WORLD , THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY, AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS, LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE. I COULDN' T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE , ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME. THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE, I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE , ' SANTA DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;
I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON' T ASK FOR MORE, MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS .
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP , I COULDN' T CONTROL IT, I CONTINUED TO WEEP.
I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS , SO SILENT AND STILL AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL . I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT , THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR SO WILLING TO FIGHT .
THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE, WHISPERED , " CARRY ON SANTA ,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE "
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH , AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT .
' MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND, !
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT .
This poem was written by a Marine.
The following is his request. I think it is reasonable. . . . PLEASE.
Would you do me the kind favor
of sending this to as many people as you can?
Christmas will be coming soon
and some credit is due to our U.S.
service men and women
for our being able to celebrate these festivities
Let's try in this small way to pay
a tiny bit of what we owe.
Make people stop and think of our heroes,
living and dead,
who sacrificed themselves for us.
Please, do your small part
to plant this small seed.
thank you

I posted this hilarious email i had found
and as soon as i posted it ...
two people came in to dispute it
but if you check it out ,
I invited a new friend of mine to speak on the thread...
he happens to be a 26 year Air Force Veteran
here is the other link ...
http://mingle2.com/topic/show/187303
and here is the email...
=================================== Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-5, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar . One of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill. The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off. Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location.Back at the CHP Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander. The reply came back in true USMC style: ~ ~ ~ Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down. Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment location. Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position. The pilot also suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech. Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster.
Thank you for your concern.

http://www.surprisedbyprayer.com/military/prayer.php?prayer=2157 12/12/08 Dedicated to: Our military families
Posted by: Karen Barber in Alpharetta, GA Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
we pray that your angels
will guard the families of all of our soldiers. We thank you for the grace and faith
with which wives, husbands, children
and mothers and fathers
handle all of the business
of family life while our soldiers
are away serving our country.
Give each of them strength, hope and joy.
Help them handle unexpected problems.
Reach out to them when they are lonely.
But most of all,
fill them with the knowledge
of our gratefulness to them
for sharing their loved ones with our country.
Amen

an email came my way...this is how it goes
HOORAY, HOORAY, HOORAY for Paul Harvey. I myself have been grumbling and wondering how a handful of people that have come to our country to get their freedom and have some rights, have been able to take our right to pray in public places away from us. So, agreeing with Paul, I GLADLY will forward this email AGAIN, AGAIN AND AGAIN. Folks, this is the Month that we RE-TAKE AMERICA ********* Get Ready ********* Keep this going around the globe ... Read it and forward every time you receive it. We can't give up on this issue. Paul Harvey and Prayer Paul Harvey says: This is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations. Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me. The silent majority has bee n silent too long. It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them, You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN! God bless us one and all ... Especially those who worship Him , God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our military who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God. Let's make 2008 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions .. And our military forces come home from all the wars.
Keep looking up.
If you agree with this, please pass it on.
