that is their problem and i would hope they work to resolve it before getting into a relationship with someone....with credit counseling or something....

I have about $50,000 worth of debt. It's all from buying a home, putting myself through college and buying my vehicle. But I have a good credit standing because my bills are paid on time and up to date. |

I agree that somone with debt needs to be able to handle it themselves...On the other hand, at what point do you ask someone how much money they have saved?
People are willing to get into a relationship with someone rich..but not someone poor. Just a funny observation. Sorry..I'm feeling cynical and jaded about life right now...so I'll sit in my corner and keeps my claws to myself from now on. |

Sorry..I'm feeling cynical and jaded about life right now...so I'll sit in my corner and keeps my claws to myself from now on. With good cause, I am sure. My second husband, while we were dating and engaged "saved" a couple of thousand dollars. What he neglected to tell me was in order to open that savings account, he was charging up his card!!! Duh!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They certainly do.. they never make the payments on time, along with many other flaws. I work with Mortgages and Banks.. they won't give you a second look if you have credit counseling on your credit report. |

As an ex-banker in credit, loans, and collections I highly recommend Consumer Credit Counseling Service. They are not a scam. They do their best to work with creditors. And, nope, not all banks look at that as a defect in character. At least none of the banks I ever worked for. I'd send folks there and we were so much more likely to get paid something as opposed to nothing, and usually more because we worked with folks. |
