if God has absolute power over life and death.. and Jesus is God ... then only Jesus could have taken his own life ...since Man can only set in motion death only God has the power absolute to take the life ...therefore Man didn't have the power to kill Jesus ..only Jesus had the power to kill himself ..therefore Jesus committed suicide .. it's no way around this logic

I think more atheists should tell Christians what they should believe and what the Bible teaches. |

Jesus is not God, never was God. People call him "our Lord, King of Kings" and so on... but Jesus was not God himself. He was a mortal. It's a great tale, you should read it sometime
|

Hmmmm.... That seems to contradict what I have been told about "The Holy Trinity" - that each of the three is simply a different manifestation of "The One True God". But I (and those who taught me that) could be wrong. |

He did not take his life by his own hand, he merely allowed it to happen. So is that suicide in the traditional sense? However - when someone purposefully involves themselves in a shoot-out with police, they call this phenomina "Suicide by Police". So I suppose the idea of suicide - or our definition of it is evolving. There's evolution for you. |

sorry "jill" I only read books with pictures in them ..besides I going by Christian belief ..just as they may claim something as being truth with no logical proof then aren't you now doing the same by claiming that Jesus wasn't God ..I'm not attempting to prove or disprove if Jesus was God ..I'm only debating that claim logically from the Christian prespective |

Depends on how you define "suicide". He did not take his life by his own hand, he merely allowed it to happen. So is that suicide in the traditional sense? However - when someone purposefully involves themselves in a shoot-out with police, they call this phenomina "Suicide by Police". So I suppose the idea of suicide - or our definition of it is evolving. There's evolution for you. "Eljay" if someone in a shootout with police was God or Jesus ..then no matter how many times the police shot them they wouldn't die ...unless God or Jesus decided to take their own life so are you agreeing that Jesus committed suicide |
