Reminiscing
Memories rush in Where idle minds play And tear wells get filled As time has it's way. You said I was strong Though you hadn't a clue, I guess all along I really fooled you. The friends that I had Passed like seasons in time. I collected their memories And walked my own line. I set out to conquer The dreams that I had And lived them I did But I wasn't so glad. I thought I was strong But I hadn't a clue, What made me so rich Was being with you. Your passing was tough And it almost killed me, But lived life for you And thought I was free. I set out to keep Your memory alive, Not knowing the pain I carried inside. I slid down my rope And fell off the end, I cried out for help But help was not sent. Alone in the muck And despair in this life, I learned the hard lessons And took them in stride. It's been now so long Since that journey began, My life's not the same And you should really be glad. I went from a world Where I lived on a lie And fell from my rope Where I lost my great pride. I learned to forgive As I shed many a tear, Looked into the face Of what I had feared. I learned to let go As I lost what I had, Now a new journey's afoot With a promise to grab. Fadedspirit 8/26/2008 |
