So heres a question.

How many of you approach girls in public? And where do you normally approach them?

Because either I'm so beautiful I scare them away or so nerdy that I scare them away lol. I say nerdy because in person I have my glasses one.

I havn't ever been approached by a guy but would like to be since everyone on here is so far away not fair because there are so many sweet guys on here.

Anyways lol back to the topic at hand. Give me some advice please. Serious advice too..

Well Sister MaryElizabeth...glasses do not make a person look nerdy. I find many very attractive.

Well, I like being chased, but I have approached women before. It has happened in clubs, or in parks, or even at Wal Mart (trust me. Grocery section in Wal Mart is great for this).

As to why guys don't approach you? Could be that they are intimidated by you? Or they feel that you would never go out with them? The reasons are endless, and I am sure you could debunk each of them (most women can). What can I say....most guys suck at approaching women. Alot of times when we do, it is because we were dared to, or we just had that instinct of "invincability" that we just said "screw it" and went for it. But yeah....guys suck at asking chicks out and such.

I never have a problem approaching women in public. I'll go for eye contact. first. If that doesn't work, I'll walk right up to them and politely start a conversation. At worst, I have a brief, pleasant conversation. At best, I get a date!

well i dont go to bars because i dont drink. i spend most of my time in class.. 300 nursing students and surprisingly a lot of guys. and walmart getting groceries lol

so thats why i was tryin to figure this all out.

but it makes sense about most guys sucking at approaching women lol.

No mam. Just commenting on how they will. I know I have. Said s*it I wish I never had, but oh well.....it's over and done with. I mean, I hate when drunk guys hit on me. It is very uncomfortable.

In this day and age you cannot wait on a guy to walk up to you. If your interested why not start the conversation?

A young guy I know recently asked me for advise about approaching a girl he has liked from afar for some time. When I told him I thought no matter a persons sex or age they are going to be nervous and unsure to some degree he wasn't encouraged.

But that's just the point isn't it?

Whether you are approaching someone or they are approaching you you are both taking a chance, you are both human (we hope) and likely both nervous.

I like BobbyJ's answer to this alot. Make eye contact, chat, joke and be content to accept whatever might be. At the best you might have found a friend or perhaps even made someones day better and at the worst it will be a brief contact with someone new and practice for the next time you approach someone.

I don't "approach" women anymore. I talk to the women I an friends with. Fortunately for me I have many women friends so its not a problem.

I don't know about where you are, but in Manhattan, NY if a man approaches a women on the street here there is usually a 911 call right about the time he trys to say anything. That's what I miss about the small towns down south and out west. If you approach someone there you usually don't have to be worried.
