At the risk of being virtually beat up again.
Have most people recieved their best advice from people that they have never talked with? I am reading proverbs and quotes, where is the heart and familiarity from your sages that have talked to you directly... those who have affected you profoundly and make you the person we all truly want to know? Um, I am not talking about everyone but those who are not actually sharing. please dont kick my ass for asking. i want to be able to talk freely |

...sages that have talked to you directly... those who have affected you profoundly and make you the person we all truly want to know? The person whom had the most profound effect upon me did not give advice. He lived it, and by his example I determined to become more the man whom I desire to be. One thing he did say: "Each person's life is an example to others. Some lives are the example of how not to live. People follow examples more than they heed words." |

His insight and knowledge are compromised and attacked but.. mostly ignored in these millenium oughts. What was his name and who was he to you? If you don't mind? |

His name is Scott, House Manager of an emergency rescue mission, for homeless men. He trained me as his assistant. I enjoyed working for him, even after he told me that he wasn't my boss anymore, and we had become friends. |
