The Eagles "Take It To The Limit".
All alone at the end of the of the evening And the bright lights have faded to blue I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have Loved me and I never knew You know I've always been a dreamer (spent my life running 'round) And it's so hard to change (Can't seem to settle down) But the dreams I've seen lately Keep on turning out and burning out And turning out the same So put me on a highway And show me a sign And take it to the limit one more time You can spend all your time making money You can spend all your love making time If it all fell to pieces tomorrow Would you still be mine? And when you're looking for your freedom (Nobody seems to care) And you can't find the door (Can't find it anywhere) When there's nothing to believe in Still you're coming back, you're running back You're coming back for more So put me on a highway And show me a sign And take it to the limit one more time Take it to the limit Take it to the limit Take it to the limit one more time |

Too old to Rock 'n' Roll too Young to die-Jethro Tull
The old Rocker wore his hair too long, wore his trouser cuffs too tight. Unfashionable to the end --- drank his ale too light. Death's head belt buckle --- yesterday's dreams --- the transport caf' prophet of doom. Ringing no change in his double-sewn seams in his post-war-babe gloom. Now he's too old to Rock'n'Roll but he's too young to die. He once owned a Harley Davidson and a Triumph Bonneville. Counted his friends in burned-out spark plugs and prays that he always will. But he's the last of the blue blood greaser boys all of his mates are doing time: married with three kids up by the ring road [ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/8YQ ] sold their souls straight down the line. And some of them own little sports cars and meet at the tennis club do's. For drinks on a Sunday --- work on Monday. They've thrown away their blue suede shoes. Now they're too old to Rock'n'Roll and they're too young to die. So the old Rocker gets out his bike to make a ton before he takes his leave. Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner just like it used to be. And as he flies --- tears in his eyes --- his wind-whipped words echo the final take and he hits the trunk road doing around 120 with no room left to brake. And he was too old to Rock'n'Roll but he was too young to die. No, you're never too old to Rock'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

I Love Jethro Tull
You are getting hit with a twofer of Neil young "Only Love Can break your heart" When you were young and on your own How did it feel to be alone? I was always thinking of games that I was playing. Trying to make the best of my time. But only love can break your heart Try to be sure right from the start Yes only love can break your heart What if your world should fall apart? I have a friend I've never seen He hides his head inside a dream Someone should call him and see if he can come out. Try to lose the down that he's found. But only love can break your heart Try to be sure right from the start Yes only love can break your heart What if your world should fall apart? I have a friend I've never seen He hides his head inside a dream Yes, only love can break your heart Yes, only love can break your heart Heart Of Gold I want to live, I want to give I've been a miner for a heart of gold. It's these expressions I never give That keep me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. Keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. I've been to Hollywood I've been to Redwood I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold I've been in my mind, it's such a fine line That keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. Keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. Keep me searching for a heart of gold You keep me searching for a heart of gold And I'm getting old. I've been a miner for a heart of gold. |

Jethro Tull was a great band....still touring now & then
Here's one last one for your rara. I'm turning in Those Were the Days-Cream When the city of atlantis stood serene above the sea, Long time before our time when the world was free, Those were the days. Golden cymbals flying on ocarina sounds, Before wild medusas serpents gave birth to hell Disguised as heaven. Those were the days, yes they were, those were the days. Those were their ways, miracles everywhere are they now? Theyre gone. Those were their ways, yes they were, those were their ways. Those were the days, yes they were, those were the days. Tie your painted shoes and dance, blue daylight in your hair, Overhead a noiseless eagle fans a flame. Wonder everywhere. |

Cream was "The Band" that turned my musical direction around.
Crossroads - Cream One of the best songs ever recorded live. I went down to the crosroads Fell down on my knees Down to the crossroads Fell down on my knees I said I'm beggin' for mercy won't you take me If you please I went down to the crossroads Tried to beg a ride I went down to the crossroads Tried to beg a ride Nobody seemed to know me Everybody passed me by Take a ride Going down toward Rosedale Took Loretta by my side Going down to Rosedale Took Loretta by my side Can still buy a house there On the riverside One more time You can run, you can run Tell all my friends I'll be by You can run, you can run Tell my friends I'll be by And I'll be stayin' in the crossroads I believe I'm sinkin' down Good night (((msnj))) |

Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the Middle With You Lyrics
Well I don't know why I came here tonight, I got the feeling that something ain't right, I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair, And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs, Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you. Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you, And I'm wondering what it is I should do, It's so hard to keep this smile from my face, Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place, Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you....... |

In keeping with the current theme....
Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35-Bob Dylan Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good, They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would. They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home. Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone. But I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned. Well, they'll stone ya when you're walkin' 'long the street. They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to keep your seat. They'll stone ya when you're walkin' on the floor. They'll stone ya when you're walkin' to the door. But I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned. They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast table. They'll stone ya when you are young and able. They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck. They'll stone ya and then they'll say, "good luck." Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned. Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end. Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again. They'll stone you when you're riding in your car. They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar. Yes, but I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned. Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone. They'll stone you when you are walking home. They'll stone you and then say you are brave. They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave. But I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned. |

might have to rename the thread at this point...
here's one from the beatles Picture yourself in a boat on a river With tangerine trees and marmelade skies Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, A girl with kaleidoscope eyes Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, Towering over your head Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, And she's gone Lucy in the sky with diamonds Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies, Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers That grow so incredibly high. Newspaper taxis appear on the shore Waiting to take you away Climb in the back with your head in the clouds And you're gone Lucy in the sky with diamonds Picture yourself on a train in a station With plasticine porters with looking glass ties Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes Lucy in the sky with diamonds... |

can't resist the penultimate band for this theme....
The Velvet Underground-Heroin I don't know just where I'm going But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can 'Cause it makes me feel like I'm a man When I put a spike into my vein And I'll tell ya, things aren't quite the same When I'm rushing on my run And I feel just like Jesus' son And I guess that I just don't know And I guess that I just don't know I have made the big decision I'm gonna try to nullify my life 'Cause when the blood begins to flow When it shoots up the dropper's neck When I'm closing in on death And you can't help me now, you guys And all you sweet girls with all your sweet talk You can all go take a walk And I guess that I just don't know And I guess that I just don't know I wish that I was born a thousand years ago I wish that I'd sail the darkened seas On a great big clipper ship Going from this land here to that In a sailor's suit and cap Away from the big city Where a man can not be free Of all of the evils of this town And of himself, and those around Oh, and I guess that I just don't know Oh, and I guess that I just don't know Heroin, be the death of me Heroin, it's my wife and it's my life Because a mainer to my vein Leads to a center in my head And then I'm better off and dead Because when the smack begins to flow I really don't care anymore About all the Jim-Jim's in this town And all the politicians makin' crazy sounds And everybody puttin' everybody else down And all the dead bodies piled up in mounds 'Cause when the smack begins to flow Then I really don't care anymore Ah, when the heroin is in my blood And that blood is in my head Then thank God that I'm as good as dead Then thank your God that I'm not aware And thank God that I just don't care And I guess I just don't know And I guess I just don't know |

Pink Floyd » Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun Little by little the night turns around Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn Novices lean on each other in yearning Under the leaves the swallow is resting Set the controls for the heart of the sun Over the mountain watching the watcher Breaking the darkness waking the grapevine One inch of love is one inch of shadow Love is the shadow that ripen's the wine Set the controls for the heart of the sun The heart of the sun The heart of the sun Witness the man who raves at the wall Making the shape of his question to heaven Whether the sun will fall in the evening Will he remember the lesson of giving Set the controls for the heart of the sun The heart of the sun The heart of the sun |

War Pigs - Black Sabbath
Generals gathered in their masses Just like witches at black masses Evil minds that plot destruction Sorcerers of death's construction In the fields the bodies burning As the war machine keeps turning Death and hatred to mankind Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah! Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor Time will tell on their power minds Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah! Now in darkness, world stops turning As the war machine keeps burning No more war pigs of the power Hand of god has sturck the hour Day of judgement, god is calling On their knees, the war pigs crawling Begging mercy for their sins Satan, laughing, spreads his wings ALL RIGHT NOW! |
