Topic: Way too many bs rules nowdays | |
---|---|
After my ex and I broke up and he deactivated... I posted a thread that ended up turning into what my one friend asked should be titled "jist's dyck on a stick"....but it so didn't start that way.... I deserved what came of that. Humm well I do remember that one and actually in reality can't blame you for your actions and how you felt. But according to the Rules it is a big no no. Just like the Good-bye or suicide threads. Those type of threads yes get deleted as soon as they are reported or we see them. Due to in the past those are the main three Topics that cause trouble between the members. |

Having been a moderator on a couple of other forums, one thing I can say for sure is that there is absolutely no way that you can please everyone. No matter how well the rules are set up, there will always be those who don't read them the way they were written. There are also those who will say that a mod will erase something from one person, while something more offending from someone else will remain because of a mod's friends. The problem I see with that reasoning is that not all of the mods are friends with the same people. Even if one mod were to let something that has been reported go, there is another mod there that may, indeed, delete it for being offensive. That is the reasoning behind having more than one moderator. Another thing that I know for certain, as evidenced by this thread, is that being a moderator on ANY site is a thankless job. No matter how hard you try to be fair and balanced in your actions, there are those who are going to cry foul when they don't agree. Ladies and gentlemen, moderators have a difficult job. It's also a voluntary ( as far as I know ) job. They put in time as moderators not for any kind of glory, or for pay, but because they want to make this a friendly place to hang out and talk to friends. That being said, they are human. Mistakes can, and probably have been, made. The best we can do is accept the fact that they ARE human and forgive them for mistakes. Trust me when I tell you, it's much better to have a few human moderators than it is to have an automatic moderation system that looks for certain keywords in a post and removes those posts. I have dealt with one of those systems, and if you think there are problems now....those systems create nothing but chaos. Honestly I could not have said it any better and agree with it whole hearted. buttons To answer your question on your end no it does not but then it is posted in your history. But when you are getting a e-mail from a Mod just so you will know we must mark it as a warning on our end. That way if that person actually talks to you in e-mail as friends only the warning ones are marked and in your history. |

i guess we are all human and make mistakes... but if there is a pattern then it should be an issue... i know i was wrong and too many people dont appoligise these days or admit to their wrongs.... even mods but if a rule isnt a rule and made in writing after you get emailed for doing something is that a warning still or can it be taken off?

I'll have to agree, certain mods do play favorites but most of the mods are fair. And I've been suspended what like 15 times or something like that... MOST of the time I deserved what I got... the few times I didn't well, I just chalked it up to the times I got away with stuff I shouldn't have gotten away with....

Yeah even the Mods make mistakes for we are only human. Ohhh and if it is not a rule at the time no you can not break a rule that was not there. The Admin if they feel it needs to be added to the Site Rules will in fact add the new Rule and only then can you be given a warning if you break that rule after it is posted. |
