Hello all, new to the Charles Town area (as in races and slots or summit point, yes...) and am beginning to think that it is a bit more quiet out here than I was expecting.

I just moved from KY across the bridge to WV and you are right...It is quiet...but I like it...but I have only lived in 6 states what do I know?

Actually I refuse to move again. I have traveled as much as one should, and more, and decided that I needed the space... just wasn't as quick to acclimate as I had thought!

I was born and raised in WV(stop laughing now!) and I love the quiet. I like the quiet when I want the quiet, not because there is nothing else to do/see. I moved from there over 3 yrs ago after living in VA and NJ also. I seem to like NC very well and although I am not tied to the state, for now its my home and so far the state I have liked the most.

NC is actually quite nice, I enjoyed a brief stint there. But then WV isn't all bad, just bought in a quiet neighborhood I think...

Might be more because the kids are basically gone and the job is 2 hours away, but WV does have a feel of being out in the boonies...
Honestly I thought I wanted that! See what I knew! But for overall living in, it is a great place. I just need to find friends to liven things up. |

Yea there is a lot to see if you are into the outdoors, spent a couple of vacations in that state, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, all worth seeing in my book.

So after deciding that the area is too quiet I ran out to the store and discovered that Charles Town had a parade today... and yes, just as I was trying to get through to the other end of town! But it did show me that there must be hundreds of people living around here!! What a parkinglot! Reminded me of 66 in rush hour, but without the screaming, birds flying, and horns.
See it isn't that bad out here after all! |
