My house
I’m building a new house It will be strong and safe No Ill wind Shall blow it down I’ll use hammers I’ll use nail My children are the foundation My friends are the braces The windows will sparkle For the sun to shine threw The wall will bear witness To laughter and joy The fire will burn On a hearth of stone Cozy and warm Safe from the storm Fresh cut flowers The pantry is full Food for the hungry A bed for the weary Please come in I’ll say We ‘ll have tea Stay for awhile Lets share a smile Stay as long as you’d like Maybe the rest of your life But if you must go Give me a hug A warm embrace And go in peace I will miss you But nay not follow For I am not allowed Outside my house don’t you see I am a prisoner I am a prisoner Locked in my life My house is empty Without a wife |
