JOLIET -- A University of Illinois student who died early Thursday was the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

At 12:20 a.m., passing motorists found Melissa J. Lech, 20, lying in the eastbound lanes of McDonough Street in front of the Illinois Youth Center Correctional Facility.

--I figure this is a good topic for this section of the board, I don't however figure anyone to have any information as I work on McDonough Street and for the most part it is a rather dead street. This incident occured when I was working the 3rd shift at 7-11 on the corner of Larkin and McDonough which is about two blocks east of the location this happened.
