i should mention, all poems i post that pertain to military, i am taking from my book. so they are copyrighted. but they have been written by me.
hugggssss seena My Shoes When I went out to dinner I heard the words you said And at the grocery store in the aisle by the bread I even heard you say at work these kids had their choice I wanted to strangle you and take away your voice You were discussing soldiers and how their mothers feel You said it was a part of life that they should all get real You said that you were tired of the tears your neighbor shed Her child was only at war, she certainly was not dead You said you couldn't understand what the fuss was all about If I hear you say one more word I'll do more than just shout I'm going to throw my shoes at you and make you put them on You won't even have to walk the mile or wear them for very long The minute you slip your feet in them you will feel all the pain That I am feeling while my child is fighting in the rain Your tears will flow just like mine while your feet are in my shoes Through the eyes of an army mom you will see how I see you You'll know the fear I feel each night when I go to bed You'll feel the pain I feel at the words the people said You'll feel the pride and joy to have a soldier in your life You will also feel their struggles and their strife Now give me back my shoes, they are too good for you to wear Because you don't believe in our soldiers over there |
