try to talk to them as adults once - if that doesn't work backoff.

Depends on the situation I guess. If I don't know why they're avoiding me I'll try to get that out of them. If they're not having it, their loss - I move on.

I think it depends on why you think they are avoiding you...I begin by thinking that I'm just being sensitive and then if I KNOW they are really avoiding me, i just move on. If they can't be upfront, don't waste your time

This happened to me. I felt a certain young lady was avoiding me. I asked her to meet me in the conference room at work to talk about it..she agreed. She never showed up.
