“Looking Ahead"

As I look into the future.
And wonder what life will capture.
Is it the things that I see?
How life will finally be.

Or will it not be what we wish for.
And we have no way to know what is in store.
Will it in the end only seem.
That all we do is dream.

Not really knowing what will be.
And we will just have to wait and see.
Of what the future will bring.
Will it be like a natural spring?

We will look and there it will be.
Right there for the whole world to see.
And no matter how much we push and shove.
No matter if it is for money, material things or love.

They say what ever happens will.
But no matter what we still,
Will strive for what we want.
Will it only to be to taunt?

Us as we go along the way and to tease.
Until we beg and say please.
So do we ever really know?
How life will go?
