I was attracted to your confident
ignorance, your muscled chest. Three months and twelve days made you wiser, Your mother and cousin made you adored. I turned blind eyes when you wrote poems for other girls and smoked too much, turned predator when you’d pass out but I learned it from you. I remember lights off and infomercials, sleeping against you - you smelled of toothpaste and I wanted to kiss you. Instead there was no tenderness. Your lust was carnal and you took what you could get, but then so did I. |
