I have often wondered what significance the witches broom was as it relates to flying.

I am sure some of you have experienced the sensation of flying in your dreams.

Have you ever wondered how you would know what the world looks like from the air if you have never been up there flying around? I flew in my dreams long before I was ever a passenger in an airplane, and yet I could see how everything looked from the air in my dreams.

I found myself in a large city flying from tall building to tall building where I went to a certain floor that was only accessible by people who could fly.

Back to the witches broom as it is used in flying.

In one dream, I could not get up off the ground for some reason. I had lost my flying skills. I was given a disk to hold on to and told that the disk will aid me in my flying ability. It did. I could fly very well as long as I held onto the small disk.

After a while, I regained my flying ability and could fly without the disk. It reminded me of the story of Dumbo the flying elephant who was given a magic feather that gave him the confidence to fly. It was not the feather at all that helped him to fly. It just gave him the belief and confidence that it took to fly.

I realize that the disk was not a magic flying disk at all. It was the belief that it was that was magic.

I thought I would try this with a broom. I designated a little witchy looking broom as my flying broom for the fun of it and concentrated on that thought for several weeks.

One night I was dreaming and I wanted to fly and I remembered my flying broom. I took hold of it in my dream and it took me into the air.

Now I feel like a real flying witch and I know how to use the broom. LOL

I dream that I am flying almost every night.

See, you don't even need a broom. Flying in your dreams is the first level of soul travel. If you want to get to the higher level, go strait up into the sky as far and as fast as you can until you get out of the earth's atmosphere and you can travel through the stars and solar system.

If you can do this, it will take you out of the dream and it will be very a real experiences.

Interesting take on the witch's broom. Actually the witch's broom is used to sweep out negative energy out of a designated sacred space. Perhaps that 'cleaning' leaves a sense of 'highness'. I always gathered that when tales were woven for its use in flying. Perhaps it provides that same sensation in your dream.

I've had flying dreams, too. I recall hovering around my house outside. I've had others, too, but they were more like falling and low hovering dreams, like above my bed. And, you are right. I knew what things looked like from above.
