Sorry to say but "overweight" is the average or majority of Americans.

>>>A new survey by the NPD Group, a leading market research firm based in Rosemont, Ill., shows that about 62% of adults and 34% of children are overweight or obese, a percentage that has been virtually the same since 2001.

This is the first time I have ever been on a dating site and there seems to be a lot of emphasis on people's physical attractiveness. I understand that...it counts for a lot for about the first 5 minutes. But, as I said before, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, it does. And, I checked your profile......you're a cutie. So, don't worry about what other people say. (Since I am the final authority on all such matters......lol)

Ruth, I often wonder if people on here are as picky in person. I have met very few people I found to be truly unattractive. Most people have some good physical qualities. I think integrity & generosity are the most beautiful qualities a person can have.

I agree/disagree.

I agree its whats inside that counts!

I disagree that beauty fades. Haven't you seen Richard Gere, George Cloney, Diane Keaton, Diane Lane, and Demi Moore??? Somethings get better with age!

Well, if you subtract the medical enhancements, would the attraction still be the same? Granted not all you have listed has had procedures, but would Demi still be as attractive if she would have let nature take its course?

I think most people are not as picky in person because when you are face to face with someone you get a sense of who they are much faster than you can online. I have met guys who might not grab my attention in a picture, but there was an instant connection that was intense.

I, too, have met very few people who were really unattractive. I have met some very "beautiful" people who became very ugly to me after I got to know them.

Have you been reading cosmo? Just teasing!

Its said that Diane Keaton and Diane Lane havent had surgery just natural maintaining/ facials.

My point was a compliment. That people who have beautiful souls exude it from the inside out and that is TIMELESS beauty!

When I looked at my grandmother, (God bless her) at age 89 she looked absolutely beautiful just as she did in her younger days.

What is your definition of "average"?

Like I said, it was because I was told I was not average on another site and was just wondering the opinion of people here. Seems to be a much more friendly bunch on this site...

You didn't really answer the question.
