Back in the UK this is what we do
The host/hostess supplies all the salads and snacks and soda and drinks and every guest brings the kind of meat they want and then we all have what we like. There are reasons behind this Food is extremely expensive in Europe in general so an average guy to throw a party doesn't want to go bankrupt too. Additionally food does not go to waste May be the idea could be a little bit strange here. |

chicken, hotdogs, brats, burgers, corn on the cob, and tater salad ding ding give the man a prize! perfect cookout right there man! and its usually customery for neighbors to also bring a dish to pass, so there's chips and dip, salads, cheese/cracker platers ect. and of course, you must be very liberal with the coolers full of ice cold beer and sodas (either for the kids and or for mixed drinks) |
