I have just witnessed an accident between a police and civilian car, it was not nice. The driver of the civilian car has been seriously hurt. I am still shaking from head to toe, I was behind the police car when it hit the civilian car ( the police car had it's blue lights flashing and had gone through red traffic lights) I have since found out from the driver of the police car that they were attending to a burglary in progress. I am still shaking, I need a stiff drink!

i saw a man being run over once, he was walking across the road and the car hit him, and he flew up in the air bounced of the glass, and rolled from the bonet to the floor, thats was awful.

just try and relax, i know its easier said than done.

Debs, I'm staying off the road !!! I came upon another accident last Wednesday, this time a 27 year old was killed, a truck carrying road working tools dropped it's load right on top of this poor blokes car ( my son and I were traveling from Leicestershire back to where we live) we were in the longest traffic queue ever and all the traffic was diverted through the little villages, and as you know ( living in the UK) how narrow those roads can be. I now have a stiff drink but still shaking !!!

Wow sis just sit back relax and drink that nice cool drink.drinks Let it calm your nerves it could have been much worse at least they were just hurt and not killed. But even then I do understand that it will rattle your nerves for a bit. Just be thankful it was not worse.

Debs, I think I am blotting it out, I was shaking so badly that when the policeman was taking my details ( as a witness) I could feel the tears stinging the backs of my eyes.I think I am going to bed early as I am in the house on my own.

Kristi, thanks hun, rattle my nerves is an understatement, after the events of the past week, I should think I am entitled to emptying the large bottle of Amaretto I have in my possession. Still don't understand how or why his right arm was outside of the car locked between the car door and the car door frame ( almost on top of the car) ewwwwww !!!

Sorry you had to witness that.

A few years back- I barely avoided being hit
head on by a man who was trying to pass
traffic in his lane (60mph). He drove right out in front of me in my lane. I am thankful
for fast reflexes. I swerved off the
road on my side allmost losing controll,
and when I got past him- I got back in my lane.
I was so shook up, when I stopped the car
later on, I could not even stand up
on my feet. I could only just sit there for awhile.
Another guy behind me on the road, followed me
right off the road to avoid getting hit too.
When we stopped at a light side by side-
he said OMG that was really close. You reacted
very fast. I told him someone was truely watching out for me that day.
It took several months before I could build the courage up to drive on that highway again.
We get alot of idiots that try to pass all the time on that road, never give themselfs enough
room to do so, or they pass on curves where
they are'nt supposed to. People being in too
much of a hurry. I'm thankful I don't live out
that way anymore, so I rarely have to take
that road.

You had a lucky escape Ms Teddy, it certainly puts you off when you've come through something like this.
My son laughs when I tell him to call me whenever he is going somewhere, I tell him it isn't his driving I am worried about, it is the other idiot coming from the opposite direction, most times on their mobile phone or worse, reading a map ( hello woman driver in the VW convertible who was on the A45 in Kettering !)
