I'm getting notices that i 'm have new mail on this site, and when i get
here my mailbox is empty. Where is my new mail going?

Hi Mastadon -

Usually, if you receive an email notice of a new message, but there is
no message in your inbox, it's because the user that sent you that
message has deactivated their account or was banned.

If you check your email notice, it should tell you what user the message
was sent from. You can then lookup that user on the site and see if
they are still active.

For example, if the user who sent you a message was me (mike), you can
see my profile by going to:

http://www.justsayhi.com/mike

Just replace mike with whatever user sent you the message and you'll be
able to see if that user is still active.

how do you find someones profile? if you have just there screen name?

The screenname is the name of the profile. For example if the screen
name is "SCREENNAME" the profile is at: www.justsayhi/SCREENNAME
