The beast would be tasty she thought.
Lost in the moment, the rustle behind her, startled her. She was quite surprised to hear the faint whimper and moan. In the blaze of the flames the shadows played tricks with her eyes. Surely it was just a child..surely |

the powder she had in her pouch. It was not often she was allowed visitors, for she kept to herself, save only the sojourner that found their way into her presence. It had been some time since she had even felt the comfort of an embrace.
I suppose it was the manner in which she walked, slowly and labored. She kept all her belongings to her as she made her way through the woods. It was a comfort to place in away from her for a time. Whimper became moan and the dirty spindled legs unfolded and stood. A tall one, hair matted and dirty, barely a rag held together. Her face or who could know, for the child was not more than becoming an age of accountability. She walked closer to the child as the child backed away until the walls of the cave gave no more room to run. A cry , a scream, shrieking fiercely. She wrapped her arms around as the sobbing overcame child |

The child's sobs ended as death embraced her. The ancient witch looked years younger from absorbing the childs life force. Gazing at her reflection in a slow moving pool, fed by an underground stream, lit by her fire. She nods, grinning in satisfaction...

(We shall see who will get the staff first) Borash thinks to himself. Sald Morack eyes the minotaur before following his father further north The minotaur grunts and orders his men to move ahead The day becomes night as odd noises continue to fill the air. "Nightcrawlers roam these woods and maybe even that witch that haunts it. We should be weary," warns Sald'Morack. Ald'Seran unsheathes his scimitars and sees... |
