Nope, but I have heard they are dangerous due to falling over and setting carpet on fire. I always kept mine in a corner behind a piece of furniture just to be safe...I like them too...just the right amt of light

in this photo out of date?(i love lamp) Heyyy! I used have one of them except mine was black and had a gold pattern on the outside of the shade & it had a 3 way switch for light options...it used to be my grandma's....hmmmmm ..I wonder whatever happened to it.
