Relationship #1=
She answered my Myspace personals ad, lived up north from me (about 120mi/2 hour drive), went out a few times over about 7 months, I broke up with her when I saw the relationship wasn't going any farther. Relationship #2= Was online friends with her for the longest time, lived all the way over in California, she spent a weekend with me last December, I was fully & totally convinced she was "the one", 3 weeks before I'm supposed to take off on a weeklong vacation in California she calls me to let me know she's leaving me for another engineering student-type who lives in Alaska. Date #3= She answered my Craigslist personals ad, lived in Milwaukee, took her to dinner at a fancier-than-I-thought-it'd-be restaurant followed by going to see the "Indiana Jones" movie. We quickly started running out of things we had in common with each other & kinda trailed off Stood-Up #4= Met her on JSH/Mingle2, lived in Milwaukee, traded a few messages, chatted on MSN a couple times, decided to go out on a date except the day-of she never called me to let me know when & where I should pick her up. Packed-up the R/C trucks and raced at a friend's house instead, never heard from her again Stood-Up #5= Met her on JSH/Mingle2, she just moved to Kenosha, chatted on MSN, had a date for dinner at a bar and grille on the Lake Michigan shoreline all lined up for last week Thursday. Drive all the way back home to change out of my work clothes & get myself a little cleaned up, all the way back to Kenosha, sit in a parking lot for 1/2 hour, give up & go home. Haven't heard from her since. |

Don't feel bad..... it's tough. I think for about every ten dates I have there is one that goes well.

Mine:
Relationship #1 Met first month of college then quickly became best friends.. Started dating a couple months later. Dated for just about 4 years before I broke up with him because the relationship had become stagnant and because we had grown apart Dating #2 Dated a guy that was exceptionally push-pull. Met him through craigslist. Things ended when he moved to Boston but it was probably for the best haha I lose. |

Honorable Mentions= Few years ago, went to a World of Outlaws race with a couple of friends at Powercom Park (now Charter Raceway), afterwards we're wandering around the pits & find ourselves behind Erin Crocker's hauler. One friend elbows me & says "You should get her number" I point to the side of the trailer & reply "19" ----------- Last Saturday, coming home from the R/C races. Happen to notice there's a local car show at the town gas station. I'm checking out a half-finished ProStreet 2004 Ford Mustang (body still in primer, interior was missing firewall, floorpan, trunk, & rear fender wells ) fairly attractive chick walks up to the other side of the car & tells me it's OK if I want to open the door to take pictures. Cell phone rings, it's one of the guys I race with. "Get her number!" "Huh?" "Shut the door on the Mustang and ask her for her number!" I quickly do some situational awareness: She's wearing a revealing black low-cut top & obviously knows the person who owns this easily 8-second car. I'm taking pictures with my cell phone, wearing a T-shirt with "Hell Yes It's Fast Dumb-A$$" on the back and jean shorts covered in dust, oil, grease, sweaty & smelling of nitromethane exhaust from the day's racing, driving a '98 Chevy S10 with an inline 4-cylinder that has all to do to move the truck its installed in and a catalytic converter that rattles like a tin cup on a jail cell. Take my pictures, say "thanks" and drive back home. |

My absolute favorite someone getting my number situation:
I live 2 blocks from a couple of bars that a couple of my friends and I go play darts at kind of often.. I went the one night and my friends walked home without me because I was in the middle of a game with a guy there. So we finish our game and he insists on walking me home to make sure I get there safe. I let him come in (I have a guy roommate so I know I'm safe haha). I go to the bathroom and come back and he informs me that my cat gave him my number.. I laugh thinking that's his way of asking for my number... But no, my number is on my cats tag in case she gets lost and he totally took my number off of it! Sly.. or creepy... couldn't decide |
