this is a funny thread....the divide by 2 and add 6 is interesting.....but for me i just go by the person & really don't care what age....but then again i've been around a few hundred years 
Yea I also go by person and don't have any restrictions. The formula I gave is just a well known rule of thumb. |

As an older woman, much older woman, yes, we do look at the younger profiles. My deceased husband was 6 years younger than me. He was my soulmate. I will never marry again. He, too, wanted a woman of confidence, self-assurance, astute and settled. But the younger man must also have something to bring to the relationship for it to solidify. If it's just a fling you want.......go for it. We do that too, lol.

I am 31 and usually go for older men. No lower in age than 28 and no more above 42 unless they gave me a good reason to change my mind!

I see on TV and the movies that older women date younger guys however in my life I never see it. I am just woundering how women feel about the situation?? I have never dated or been with an older woman, I know I know I am missing out hehe...However I am feed up with girls my age, who want to act like they are still in college and just go out and party everynight. Maybe I'm a bit young... 22, but the oldest I've ever been interested in was just 7 years older and younger 2 years at the most.

5-6 years younger is all I'd consider. The girl wants to feel young, pretty, feminine, all that good stuff.. If she is much older, she feels like she has to be more jealous and is less confident her man will stay with her in my opinion...

Honestly? I have dated up to 27 years younger than myself. I know .. I'm edgy. It's all about chemistry with me. I just don't do well with my age or even close. All the guys I've seen in past 5 years have been at least 10 years younger (5 years diff with adults is not really dating younger) .. I beg to differ here. First off we aren't 'girls' we are mature women who have it goin on. It's the REASON younger guys like to date us. Cuz we are NOT 'girls' anymore. More importantly..we don't do the jealousy and lack of confidence thing .. we don't NEED reassurance like young girls do. We KNOW we are hot and really don't rest on a guy's affirmation to feel that way. It's why we are who we are.

and btw, I think the cougar term is misleading. Makes it sound like WE are the ones hunting the younger guys. I am never at a loss for the younger guys to be hunting me. Why would I need to go proactive?

I think you see the term in misrepresentation. I think it implies that once you get your claws into a younger man, a younger woman won't stand a chance of prying hime away. Look at the positive!!!
