After losing 2 out of 3 to the Chicago White Sox, and falling 7 1/2 games back in the A.L. Central, I am afraid it's over for my beloved Detroit Tigers as well.

Well, okay..it's over for them...lol Ya know....if their pitching staff, especially the relievers, could get their act together, the Tigers have PLENTY of offensive firepower to make it a race. Unfortunately, there is no one in the bullpen who can actually hold a lead. Well...with the exception of Dolsi. He's been good far more often than not this season. Jones is a roller coaster ride, Rodney is too erratic, and Zumaya can't seem to stay healthy. |

Since this topic was started about the Atlanta Braves, I figured this next item would fit here.
Longtime announcer for the Atlanta Braves, Skip Carey ( son of Harry Carey ) passed away at the age of 68. Here is a link to the story http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080803&content_id=3250339&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb |
