I got sober by the grace of God and some foot work in August 1992, I just got my ex of 14 years in a rehab 2 wks ago (explains our demise over the last few years) which had ended some 4 months ago.. I still love her and not so sure what will become of this.. I check on her boys regularly, 26 and 18..cleaned her house from top to bottom.. Mail her smokes and Phone Cards..
I feel betrayed, sympathetic, angry and resentful she deserves a chance to recover and live a happy life.. I must keep my distance and let her work her program..I love her and Miss her very much. I knew all the signs and she denied it for so long.. I watched her fall apart while claiming depression, how could I argue that? I can only Dream she starts to become the person I knew, only more improved.. No one (my Family and Daughters) understands why I even bother, and I know the chances of a successful recovery program, The Love we shared at one time makes me believe we can get there again only better, only I won't tell her that,, I am just helping another recover from addiction as far as she knows.. |
