For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself -- Galatians 5:14

1. I did not misinterpret what you posted. I know what you were saying and what you believe. I just have a different take on it.bigsmile

2. Why would you only think that only people on this forum will "all be saved" and not the whole world? Isn't that thinking kind of small and limited? (I believe the whole human race will ascend to their higher selves and be "saved.")

3. I think yours looks like a new religion because you only focus on Jesus and being born again and the Holy Spirit and you ignore the glaring inconsistencies of the Bible and suspicious and questionable history of Christianity itself.

I am a chrsitian and beleive in every single word of the bible ....and I don't add or take away from what is written in the Word of God.

But you seem to ignore the old testament and the murder and killing done by the god of Abraham who condoned and instructed his people in keeping slaves, incited war, killing non-believers, stoning unruly children, killing witches, etc. etc.

You refuse to address these things and yet you claim you believe every single word of the bible. HUH?

So I'm sorry, I see you creating a new religion altogether. I don't think you would obey a god who told you to stone your unruly children. And yet if god has changed, and become a good and loving father why is he described as unchanging?

Oh well I love you anyway. flowerforyou

The continual harping on the "stoning of unruly children" is the result of lack of the understanding of the complete Word of God.

If you seek Truth, you will find truth.

Read the
Bible...and this time ask God to open your eyes to His Truth....

OR.....

you can continue
just posting your opinions on a forum.

Your choice.

I must go now..
Bye..
Be Blessed....Praying for All..Love You All.

Take Care.

This is very true....but also stop and think how you treat those that "Want" to have their beliefs....because it surly does work both ways.....Because I believe what I do.....Why do I get the label fundamentalist, or any other labels....why can't I just be Debbie that loves the Lord Christ....is that to much to ask for.

Not for me.happy You have your specific beliefs as we all do. You don't push them on others, you just express them. I feel that if we feel love and joy, we are feeling god.

I don't like it when others judge me for my different beliefs and tell me I am going to hell because I know different, just as you know what you know, I know what I know.

JB

I agree 100% and I for the most part from doing this for so long...believe they are just baby Christians that do that.....No one is your judge JB and sure as heck not me.....I have said it before I adore you and we don't believe the same things....but that doesn't mean I can't love you as a fellow human being, respect your intelligence, and most of all respect whatever it is you want to believe...

It is not just the "stoning of unruly children" I am addressing. There are many other things in the Bible that strike me as violent and primitive concerning the god of Abraham that are ignored by most Christians in conversations and debates.

You stated that you believed every single word of the Bible. Then you must believe that god said these things and that god did these things it says, and yet you don't discuss or address these issues, you just say that I (or whoever) just does not understand the Bible or has not read the Bible etc.

This is not true. We have read the bible and we understand what the words actually say in the literal sense.

I think it would behoove you that if you recite scripture that you also put the scripture up....I know nothing in the bible about stoning unruly children....And again I think you take one lil minisqual part and make it fit what you need......you have to take the context in it's whole...not just what fits for yourself...

1. Numbers 14:10
But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the LORD appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites.
Numbers 14:9-11 (in Context) Numbers 14 (Whole Chapter)
2. 1 Samuel 30:6
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.
1 Samuel 30:5-7 (in Context) 1 Samuel 30 (Whole Chapter)
3. John 10:33
"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."
John 10:32-34 (in Context) John 10 (Whole Chapter)
4. Acts 7:54
[ The Stoning of Stephen ] When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him.
Acts 7:53-55 (in Context) Acts 7 (Whole Chapter)
5. Acts 7:59
While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
Acts 7:58-60 (in Context) Acts 7 (Whole Chapter)

Show me where it says stoning the children......

It has been posted by others not me. I think everyone takes parts of scripture and uses it to make their points, especially Christians.

You can't take whole chapters and post them and it is not really necessary in most cases.

If there were no violent or questionable acts of god in the Bible, there would be no problems. We who have questions about these things as we read them find no explanation for them from Christians. Have Christians not read the entire Bible? Did they miss these things?

A passage in the Bible instructing people how to manage their slaves or suggesting that you stone unruly children is not "what fits for me" as you put it." I simply question it when I see it or hear about it.

I am not on a mission to destroy Christianity. If you want to ignore the negative unexplainable things in the Bible I guess that is your choice.

The reason these things are brought to the front in the first place is because many Christians pick and choose their favorite passages to prove their points as it fits them, claiming that it must be true "because it is in the Bible and the Bible is the word of god... period, end of debate... I won."

So that is why the rest of the Bible is picked apart by agnostics and non-believers.

I am sure you can understand that.

Yes I found it....not quite how it was worded as it was in Lev 4: 10-17 and it was not a child as we don't know the age...but I got it.
