Ok, I would like to start off by saying this post isn't meant to offend ANYONE.

I am wondering why Muslims "have to" shower after any type of intimate touching; Whether it be masturbation or an intimate encounter with another person.
I spoke to a Muslim friend of mine and he said he "has to shower" after ANY intimacy?!?! I asked him if it was because he felt "dirty" after the act and he didn't want to talk about it...so...I don't know if it's because he was uncomfortable or his religion didn't allow him to share...?

It's religious custom. they got that from the Jews who were doing it for thousands of years. However, not many Jews follow the full oral law or even the "mitzvot" which are the 613 laws of Yahweh anymore, so the muslims are alone in this compulsion. I don't get it either. It is a general rule to wash away fluids, youre not gonna let them just sit there ( i dont know many women that want male fluids sitting on them or even males who like female fluids on them for extended periods).... but if a condom was involved and you were able to clean up after sex, i dont really see a need. Showering after masturbation? what's that about? i think the cleanest person that you can have sex with is yourself. I think going off immediately to shower after sex can be kind of insulting to the other person. Correct me if I'm wrong, but some women like to spoon after sex and talk about random things till they fall asleep. By getting up and going to the bathroom to wash up right away, it kind of sounds like you're saying "you're dirty and you made me feel dirty". Tell your friend to get over himself, he's in America now.

I wouldn't want a shot on me for long periods of time but he made it sound as if it was a matter of "urgency"
I have known my male friends to masturbate and shoot in a sock or towel (stupid guy talk)...then go take a nap or something...

I can't tell him to get over it. I'm sure he would see it as some form of disrespect.

totally unrelated to the main topic, but on a side note... us guys sometimes fall asleep after sex, or even masturbation because of a release of a chemical called Oxytocin in the brain. No, we're not disrespecting you. Sleeping after sexual exertion is common. Shooting into a sock or towel though....uh, i don't know about that. what if you have a maid and she happens to come across that towel or sock lying on the floor? I feel so sorry for people that discover things like that and end up having to handle them. I think a tissue suffices just fine. I guess women have things easier..... Anyway, it's okay to have religious beliefs, but when those beliefs interfere with you being a normal, healthy human being, then i think it's a bit nuts. By the way, in some Islamic societies, people are whipped or even put to death for masturbating or having sex out of wedlock (especially in Iran). I sometimes wonder about the mental states of these people that prevent themselves and others from experiencing something normal and natural. I am glad that i live in a society that is advancing away from prudishness, even though a little too much at times, so that doing a normal everyday thing isn't seen the same way as committing murder.

I agree with rocket there is a chemical in the male brain that makes us fall asleep after sex and or Masturbation. Having religious beliefs is a good thing but its a natural thing to do in this day and age its just a natural release.It is about mostly lusting over something and is said that isn't good. But alot of things have changed over time its being talked about alittle more in society and isn't taken to seriously.

That can be dangerous for a man, I would think. I went with a man who totally passed out cold after sex. You could not wake him no matter what. He was literally in a comma or something. I was quite worried there was something wrong with him.

I don't think that is normal or common. He considered it perfectly normal but I would think that could be real dangerous if he was with a woman who he does not know well who might rob him. He had better be careful who he has sex with that is all I would say. A man with that problem could never mistreat or rape a woman because if he did, she could easily stick a knife in him when he passed out afterwards.

Oxytocin is normal and common Jeannie, you just have to have studied medicine to know that. No, it isn't dangerous, but with this guy being a really deep sleeper, i would think that more than just that brain chemical are involved. Men and women are alot alike in some ways, but there are things that work differently, especially in the bedroom and people don't seem to talk to eachother about it enough. instead they would rather look to the tv for an explanation (soap operas and Dr. Phil know absolutely nothing). Masturbation is an excellent way to deal with insomnia and both men and women release this chemical in their brains. The heart would be more of a reason for a man to pass out deeply after sex. Then again, I have been known to be a deep sleeper once in awhile as well and even with family dragging me and tapping my face, i have been known to stay asleep (they thought i was dead). These were during times that i did not engage in any sexual activity as well. Anyway, this is a religion thread and its turning into a sex advice column.

1 :It is a sin for a Muslim to masturbate .
2 : It is a sin for a Muslim to have any intimacy out of marriage including touching ,kissing , fondling , fingering ,caressing....etc.
3 : It is a sin to be gay in Islam .

4 : Anal sex is a sin in Islam between all people including married ones .
Why does a muslim perform a special shower before a prayer if he or she was intimate ?.
I understood that they think in order to be facing God and praying to God you must be clean .
They believe in only one GOD who created all of us .They see their prophet MUHAMMAD as a human being and a messenger of God .
They see Moses and Jesus are humans ,messengers and prophets .
That is enough for now . .

Id just wash my lil friend after I do my duty so he wont be stuck to my underpants! And wash my hands cause u always gotta wash ur hands before n after u do anythin! LOL
