You keep powering it up but it only confirms it's not working.


How long until you get jitters?
Can you troubleshoot the problem yourself?
Would you trash it and just get a new one?
Would you freak out because you don't have any backups?

has happend to me several times...(blue screened, won't boot up windows..- yea OMG moment for sure)...and no I never have any backups..and i lose everything, photos, files u name it its all gone..everytime..well this happens alot..i never learn..lol
I do wanna just buy a new Computer everytime this happens..but I end up just troubleshooting, and fixing it myself..while being pissed while the Laptop runs through its 2 hr Windows re-installation spiel...and reinstalling MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger,and all that other junk.

I usually fix my own problems, but I have a back-up computer, so I usually only have the pc-dt's for a few minutes.

my son does all my computer stuff he builds them also...he's going to college, majoring in .....yep....computer engineering

I have what's called a Time Machine back up on my iMac. The external drive hooked up to it at all times and the Time Machine backs up only the changes so back up files aren't too big. If something happened to my computer and it was replaced all I would have to do is plug in the external drive into the new comp and TA DA back to exactly how it was.

I should know better. I am getting no ntoskernl errors sometimes when I startup and I know what that means if it won't go away. No back ups....yet. me=stupid

I can build a computer from scratch and was in the computer industry for 8 years dealing with isuses of one sort or another.
