And please read this with an open mind. It's really not that hard
I been on this site for a while and so have alot of you and there has been a hell of alot of threads we read everyday and form are opinions on them at time, but most seem to be for fun. Although when the more serious threads come up. Some people don't think before they react and will post before they realy see whats going on. I have posted a couple threads as many others and they go in with a close mind. not looking at the over all picture and the thing is, it's not hard to step back and say. What is this person realy saying. You end up getting key words that people will focus on and the thing is. if one word that person posted on is all some will focus on. Why is that? Can one word actually hurt you? can it change who you are? can it change what you do in your life? Does it make you who you are today? What i'm getting at at. There just words and not all words are held acountable for the whole thread. Look beyound and see thing as there ment to be and not what you want to make it to be and i bet things will be easier to see. Is it really hard to have an open mind? |

sometimes, especially with typed words... it's hard to get the person's tone and real meaning. It's kinda like text messages. You can usually take them the wrong way. Also, not knowing a person's personality very well can lead to misunderstandings. And of course there's the few people that just take offense to everything.

In todays world of politically correctness, one word is often blown up completely out of its intent. Many are looking to take offense at the first opportunity, and they will manufacture a meaning so that they can be offended. To them, discussion means "agree with me or I will be offended." Many, instead of entering the discussion with thoughtfullness, simply resort to personal attack because they do not have the verbal ability to communicate their ideas in an intelligent manner, but instead, are blinded by their passions. It would seem people are quick to attack & then everyone else picks up on it & joins in. I don't think I have ever posted a topic, just for that reason.

This takes me back to one of the first posts I read and posted in. It just happened to be a debate with you. At the end of it all, we realized it was just one big misunderstanding. But we both had fun and learned something new.
I hear where you're coming from. Have you ever heard of selective hearing? Well, some people have invented selective reading. |

Its all about perception...

There will always be close-minded people that will always be ignorant and will never change with the times. Plus, misunderstandings do happen sometimes and there is no way around it other than being an adult and move on.

Too bad closed minds dont come with closed mouths... heheh..
I guess its easy to miscontsrue what some people say.... i've done it.... i've had people misconstrue what i've said,too.... ...and its easy to misconstrue over the internet because you can't hear there tone of voice (Therefore,I use emoticons quite a bit) ... but I guess it boils down to the fact that the English language is just that: the English language and we should all read and write literally.... alas, we do speak in a language that is so bastardized |

Its....just the internet...not real life...people should lighten up...I love all of you

You say sometimes you can take the text words sometimes a wrong way. Question, if your not sure. Is hard to ask if your not sure. most will jump at what they think it means and will not take that time to find out what it really ment it's like the little smiley faces we have on here. Some people need to see them to be sure if someone is being serious or not. |

I think that since You cannot read the body language in this type of forum it makes it more difficult to read people and You do associate people in the words they use. I do believe You are right about keeping an open mind and hold off opinions till they express themselves in other ways that you can read them for who they are.
