Ruth Limbaugh was never convicted of any crimes. In fact, his lawyer proved in court that Rush didn't commit any doctor shopping. Rush was proscribed a huge number of pills over a period of time, but they were all legally proscribed to him. The fact that he saw multiple doctors was because they were all in the same practice. This isn't the 1800s when you can't see a doctor if the doctor isn't in, they are covered by other doctors. It's really disheartening when people believe any story that puts someone with whom they disagree into a negative light.

It's actually funny that the prosecution asked the court to release Rush Limbaugh's medical records, because the DA couldn't find any evidence that Rush had broken the law. Now think about that for a second, because most of you who are busting on Rush should get a chill when you think about that. Basically, the DA was saying "We have no evidence that Rush Limbaugh broke the law, so please suspend all of his rights to privacy so we can try to catch him at something.". The ACLU agreed with Rush Limbaugh's attorneys.

In total, this is a non-story, aside from the prosecutorial misconduct.

i guess that's why ESPN fired him. guess that was a democratic fault to.

After ESPN fired Rush, other correspondents on ESPN and in sports columns around the country posted the same commentary as what Rush said. They were discussing why Donovan McNabbs performance was so poor lately and Rush responded "You know, I think the sum total of what you're all saying is that Donovan McNabb is regressing. He's going backwards. And my -- I'm sorry to say this. I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we have here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. "

His comment isn't racist. He's not saying that a black man couldn't be a great Quarterback, he's saying that Donovan McNabb isn't a good quarterback and that the media is saying his is only because he's black. Many sports commentators have parroted Rush Limbaugh. Many have outright agreed with Rush.

Exactly. I would have argued the exact same thing, but whatever I post nowadays gets blasted by the most intolerant replies. Hope the same doesn't happen to this one for it is the truth. Though, when people here most often believe that a black conservative is most likely a self-hating black man or someone who sold out their race you got to wonder. What Rush said wasn't politically correct and good for him, political correctness is becoming far too rampant in the media nowadays and it a dangerous thing to avoid looking into something real for fear of being labelled as something you're not.

Since when does political correctness stop a person from stating facts unless they need to demean others in order to state facts. This is not true. A person can be totally politically correct and still be an effective if not great communicator.

The fact that rush is a pompous, unintelligent windbag who tries to fire people up on issues that border on racist and definitely hit hatemongering is the reason people don't like him. He is an idiot. I have yet to hear an intelligent word come out of his mouth.

I think that the problem is not that Rush doesn't say anything intelligent. I think it comes from your inabillity to decipher intelligence from the left wing talking points which usually veer way clear of being intelligent.

Hatemongering? yeah ok laugh . Rush doesn't promote hatred towards anyone. Fact is those who have opposing view points are the ones who are hatemongering.
Rush is also about as far from being a racist as anyone you could name. The biggest racists I can think of are those politicians who do their level best to keep the welfare state alive and well by trying to control more and more of their lives. It's as if the government doesnt think these people are smart enough to do things for themselves.

His lawyers and time were worth more than 30,000 dollars. They had no evidence, but they planned to continue perusing charges. For Rush and his lawyers, it was just easier to pay 30,000. For me, I would just go to prison, I couldn't afford those kinds of lawyer bills. The simple facts of the matter is that a charge without evidence was being prosecuted, while the only people who had committed a crime (blackmailed Rush) were given immunity.
