Roy they vaccinate against Parvo, may be able to get them a shot now. Puppy Chow softened in warm water would be good for them now, has a milk type coating on the food already. They will really like it and fill them up and not rely on mom so much.

We used to start pups on baby rice cereal with milk when they were a couple of weeks old, then on to Puppy Chow at this age. But they will be fine. Check with the vet on the Parvo thing though, it is ugly. My mom had a dog with it. Once the virus gets in your house it is in there for years they say and infests all animals who enter the home. Take care.

Check with the vet on worm medicine too, some of the over the counter stuff is too strong for pups and the vet can give you what they need. Different types of worms too and each type has a different medicine needed for it.

Thanks, Marie. I have to keep the pups alive. Especially the black one. There is a three year old girl depending on me. All the pups have been accounted for now and I would be like dead meat if something happened to them.

Please call your vet & ask his/her advice, parasites can be very serious in such small puppies. Oatmeal isn't going to give puppies the nutrition they need. I got Olive, my rat terrier, at 4 weeks & started her on canned Pedigree Lamb & Rice for puppies mixed with puppy formula, she did very well on this & gradually I mixed it in with dry Purina One Rice & Lamb for puppies.
