OOOPS!!! Almost forgot to address the statement proposed by our host!
'A reasonable and forgiving man', hence a show of character, certainly!!! Regardless of the 'knee-jerk' reaction of the servile political dogma kind, ... anytime one is in the presence of a human being like Obama in this case, whom raises above the urge to/of ... ... 'get even', ... 'taking advantage of another's mistake or failings', ... 'gross opportunism', and quite to the contrary, ... 'accepts in good faith another's apology' ... ONE IS AUTOMATICALLY IN TE PRESENCE OF CHARACTER. (IMO!!!) |

Jesse Jackson, a man of character? That's interesting! No doubt you are referencing him because neither Obama or McCain have any character, however, they are "characters"! Damn Republicrats! Read it again. Obama is the man with Character! I didnt realize Jessie was running for President... yes a man of character but what kind of character he can not even make his campaign maintain his spoken promises what he aint elected yet so he can use imported products when he says more jobs here http://www.justsayhi.com/topic/show/143619 thinks that make ya go hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

Will Al Sharpton get all up on Jesse Jackson like he did Imus? Prolly not, considering they both love to spread hate around America while preaching goodwill for all men.

Actually, Obama rates very high on IQ measurements. His academic and professional accomplishments corroborate that.
I think he has the potential to be a very fine president. Oceans |

I don't think America will be dead if McCain winds.
McCain is a decent person and honest. The reason I wouldn't vote for him, though, is that 1) he has not learned much about the world and when he comments on world affairs on the US economy he sounds highly naive, and 2) he has a legendary temper among his colleagues and looses control of himself routinely. He apologizes profusely after the incident, but I would worry if he became president about his emotional stability and the possibility for major problems coming from that. But this doesn't make him a 'bad guy'. He has courageously taken several positions that are admirable, like his opposition to torture. But mavericks don't make good chief executives. Oceans |

Why wouldnt Obama take the high road. Nothing at all to gain by critizing Jackson after that comment. Obama is laughing all the way to the bank. Even if Jackson still speaks at the democratic convention I'm sure Obama knows that anything Jackson says will now fall on death ears. Jackson could have been a problem for Obama but once again Jackson put his foot in his mouth.....I'd love to see the two debate.

LOL If standards are too low it is thanks to the Bush and his bunch. We have had it up to the eyeballs with the neocons or republicans or whatever they are calling themselves today. I think people have actually had an eye opening since Bush has been in office. They have realized that the republican right standing on the supposed "good ole American ideals", are really bigoted, self depreciating, self involved, unpatriotic, economically biased, etc.... bunch who really care not about this country unless it only includes those like them. My opinion of course. |

McCain is too hot headed to lead this country. I believe though honorable his POW experience makes him less reliable under pressure instead of more. He looks frail anyway. I think he may be too old also. |

Will Al Sharpton get all up on Jesse Jackson like he did Imus? Prolly not, considering they both love to spread hate around America while preaching goodwill for all men. Right since blk people did start racism right.......give me a break......Imus is an ignoramus....point blank Too many white folks forget this fact. Also too many white folks are looking for the "reason" to hate public figures of non white background. Imus was an idiot. He did it to himself and deserves no pity. He knew better. |

Ah jeeze, i forgot where i was, i should have explained myself better on this end of the forums. WHAT I MENT TO SAY: Sharpton went after Imus like a madman. He was on every news outlet, every radio show, every news paper, condemning what the guy said. So why isn't he doing that again for what Jesse Jackson said? In my opinion i feel Jackson and Sharpton are setting back the civil rights era. Why don't they speak out against crude rap music? Or about ALL of the racist cops locking up people because of their race. And i don't just mean black people, but i mean whites, indian, mexican, etc. They say they want peace for all races, yet they seem to loose focus and make themselves look like fools instead of leaders. |
