Depending on the motor , that can be an easy fix!! ( I happen to be a mechanic) my dad said if i get the tools/parts all he will have to do is take my altinator off and put it in Taking the alternator off shouldn't be a big deal, a helicoil is just supplimental threads that twist in. it would have been worse if the head had to come off the motor, but that all depends on the size of the motor. Who stripped the spark plug putting it in |

Who stripped the spark plug putting it in we are hoping this is THE problem but who knows... it was apparently like that before i got the car a few months ago... we think when i went camping that helped jiggle the spark plug out (off roads). i haven't changed them since i got the car. i will eventually but they are working fine for now and i have to also fix my oil leak... which dad says could be anywhere cuz of the amount of oil under my car..... |

Have someone steam clean or pressure was the engine top to bottom & in a couple of days you will be able to see exactly where the oil leak is coming from. Let me know how you made out & if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

If it's a Ford V8, they had a real problem with that. They did have a TSB (Tech service bullatin) on it. Go to your local car dealer and see if they will print you the repair info from that bullatin. If you have a slow oil leak, you can add engine dye to the oil, let it run, and check it with a blacklight. (I was a Ford SErvice Mgr) Good luck....
