Topic: computer doesn't shut off | |
---|---|
Hello my genius technology computer mongols!
What does it mean when you click on the start icon and on the shut off computer icon next and the only thing that shuts down is your monitor? The blue light is still on the pc itself and doesn't shut off? I have no viruses on my computer or anything either?? Any suggestions? I must add sometimes it shuts off. Like every third try. |

I'm just thinking...I've always been a little behind the curve on computers but on every one I've used the computer can't turn the monitor off (unless of course it's a laptop), once the computer shuts off the monitor loses the input signal from the computer. On any monitor made within the past several years, if there's no incoming signal the monitor automatically goes into standby since it knows it's not doing anything.
So when you tell your computer to "Shut Down", the monitor powering itself down should be the last thing to happen, since it'll only do that after the computer shuts down. But, I've been wrong before ~shrugs~ |

But, I've been wrong before ~shrugs~ I would agree with you completely, but it is weird. I turn of the shut off button and the monitor turns off, but the blue light on my pc still stays on indicating it is still running for some reason? So I wait as I think maybe it has to download or do last minute requirements(whatever that is) and nothing happens. The blue light remains on as I go back to see 30 minutes later. So I end up pressing the blue button on the pc until it shuts down and there is no light at all. I just don't get it at all. Very weird. |
