No credit checks, you do not have to prove where you live, instantly shop on line with your pre-paid card, all it takes is 30 seconds........Said the ad. Is this true? No ! I visited the shop advertising some well known pre-paid UK cards. The shop keeper wanted my drivers license ( a photographic identifying document) proof of my address ( utility bill, and not older than 3 months) I pointed out to him what his ad in the window said ( and the online ad) I phoned the company who told me this guy was making up the rules as he went along and I should supply his details and they will look into it......... Do you use pre-paid debit cards? I do not trust revealing my bank details to Pay Pal.

PayPal has been sending me bills for over a year now and I've never purchased one thing from them. And they have many many lawsuits going for the same thing. Billing. I'd pass on anything thru PayPal.

I do not use nor will I ever use prepaid credit cards/debit cards. Anytime you are offered a product or service and right at the beginning the offer changes, walk away.

You're correct fran and Joaverage, I was quite amazed at the amount of "dirt" Pay Pal has against them, yet they are broadly striding forward regardless of the amount of people they have wrongly blacklisted.

Yeh, they are good, but you can buy them from your drug store. Don't get them online. I don't trust them that way. If they get stollen when you get them from the drug store, they at least don't have your bank account #. Have a nice day.flowerforyou

Will Pay Pal ever be brought down? They froze my son's account with £77 in it, he appealed as he did not know why they did that, he's never received an answer and they were refusing to close the account they had with him, in the end he closed his bank account with the bank to which he had the Pay Pal account linked to,his bank were very helpful in helping him out and opened another account for him.

This is all pretty scary stuff, I am so glad I posted this. I spent the entire evening ( last) reading up on the misery Pay Pal has put some of their customers through, and no amount of appealing will make them relent ( I looked at the posts of a UK forum called "Martin's Money Programme"

Jo, have you requested a complete history of the alledge debt? good luck - some of these companies are ruthless when it comes to collections and they but an ugly mark on your credit report and score.
I wrote to them and told them I am not responsible for any debt they put on an account I did not open. My attorney told me to send that every time they send me something, and to give them my attorney's name, # and such. So now I just ignore them. I save all the crap the send in case I have to sue them.......Good Luck all

Just make sure they do not level their false claim against your credit rating.I despair at the way money is ruling the world these days. Here in the UK if you ask to see your credit rating more than 3 or 4 times in a year, it can actually go against you..................Why? Good luck with clearing up the Pay Pal mess Joaverage.

Jo piece of advise, make a call to their collection department; get a name of someone in management and keep a log of all communication via telephone, mail, etc. also include your replies, mailed x copies on x date. advise them that you have instructed them to contact your attorney and cease all communications with you. warn them of filing charges against them (this alone works) and report to the credit bureaus, before they affect your credit score.
