Freedom from Monarchy and taxation w/o representation. Gas is still cheaper here than in Europe my friend. And hiding the truth about 9-11... lol. Don't know about the taxation without representation thing. I just had to pay a penalty to the government because I didn't pay enough taxes before April 15. I payed all that I owed, but they said I didn't pay enough during the previous year. I looked at it as being penalized for paying my taxes. Unfair taxation still takes place, Warren Buffett pays less than his secratary in taxes, I don't think the system is quite fair yet. |

Without doubt, I will agree that there are many things that are unfair. But, then I take a step back and look at where I actually live compared to otheres throughout the world...I got it pretty good compared to them

If he paid that much, and his secretary paid more, how much money did she make? Damn, I should become a secretary. lol He paid a lower percentage than her, thats what you should have said. However, by paying a lower percentage he has so much more to spend. With all this excess to spend he buys more, spends more, hires more, invests more. Trickle down effect works. |

What about charity and other such things. A lot of donations to charitable organizations are tax deductible. Many rich people would rather give their money to a cause they believe in than to the government, but they are still giving the money up. |
