And like democrats that posts don't ever do that. It's called DEBATE. Its called half truths, misleading, and deceptive! I dont care which side does it! SO, since you are so adamant for EMBRYONIC STEM CELL research, which has yet to be proven to cure ANYTHING, am I to assume that you are in favor of killing of a human life?

Limited quantity—can sometimes be difficult to obtain in large numbers 2. Finite—may not live as long as ES cells in culture 3. Less flexible (with the exception of #1 above)—may be more difficult to reprogram to form other tissue types Why did you leave out all the facts? Did you think it was unimportant to give all of them? Because, as you can very well see, they are irrelevant to the proven usefulness. You simply took up more space than necessary, that is another reason I omitted them. But, my dear, I DID LEAVE THE LINK TO WHERE I GOT THE INFORMATION. SO, IF ANYTHING WERE TO BE DECEIVING, IT IS MERELY YOUR OPINION.

People do not realize that embryonic stem cell has proven non-beneficial. It has yet to cure anything, It is the adult stem cell research that is curing illnesses! Lindyy

These are called human embryonic stem cells. The embryos used in these studies were created for infertility purposes through in vitro fertilization procedures and when they were no longer needed for that purpose, they were donated for research with the informed consent of the donor.
Stem cells are important for living organisms for many reasons. In the 3- to 5-day-old embryo, called a blastocyst, stem cells in developing tissues give rise to the multiple specialized cell types that make up the heart, lung, skin, and other tissues. In some adult tissues, such as bone marrow, muscle, and brain, discrete populations of adult stem cells generate replacements for cells that are lost through normal wear and tear, injury, or disease. Adult stem cells are also of no use for work on diseases's like Parkinsons, and other nerve related diseases! Plain and simple!
Bush is an idiot. He allows the Christian right to stand in the way of good common sense! Federal funding is needed to attract the best scientist and speed the Research into the most promising line of Stem cells! Without it many Universities are unable to get involved. His and the Christian rights's logic is not to destroy a 5 day old human embryo, but the fact is that the embryo scientist want to use are developed outside the womb and are being frozen, eventually thrown away. Thrown in the garbage where they do no good. Not for science and never to develop into a human being! Congratulations on the waste! |

Why debate it? We don't need any type of research at all.
Diseases can't be cured. Oil is the only way to generate energy. Global warming is a myth. Any war waged by the US is just, because God loves us, and no one else. Freedom of religion is the cornerstone of this country! As long as it's Christianty. Fiscal responsibility is defined as the practice of writing a 'blank check' for military action in a 1900 year old war that will inevitably end in a stalemate (at best) with an Islamic Fundamentalist Iranian backed government - while at the same time watching the dollar become the equivalent of the peso in 8 years. Big Business does not need oversight. The credit crisis wasn't spurred by financial institutions' greed. It was caused by the stupidity and gullability of the American Consumer! God Bless America... And no place else. |

Though both Fanta and Lindy make valid points, I think you all are missing the most important part. If it weren't for the servicemen and women risking their lives for our freedom, The United states would have the ability or the freedom to do any stem cell research. So everyone needs to thank a soldier for the sacrifices they make in order to give up the opportunity to speak our minds.
