I know I will get alot of heated response to this one, yet I am hoping that perhaps respectful discussions will occur nevertheless.

As over the years many people in this world ask many questions about religion, God, spirits, or even angels. The heated back and forth debates always come to a stalemate.

I want to post reasons why many people believe God is imaginary. You can then approve or disapprove if you wish. If you can back it up with "facts' even better.

Regardless if you are a religious fundamentalist or a atheist of no beliefs I wish you most of all happiness and joy in your life.

What would happen if we get down on our knees and pray to God in this way:

Dear God, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, we pray to you to cure every case of cancer on this planet tonight. We pray in faith, knowing you will bless us as you describe in Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We pray sincerely, knowing that when God answers this completely heartfelt, unselfish, non-materialistic prayer, it will glorify God and help millions of people in remarkable ways.

Will anything happen? No. Of course not.

This is very odd. Jesus makes specific promises in the Bible about how prayer is supposed to work. Jesus says in many different places that he and God will answer your prayers. And Christians believe Jesus -- according to this recent article, "54% of American adults believe the Bible is literally true." In some areas of the country the number goes as high as 75%.

If the Bible is literally true, then something is seriously amiss. Simply look at the facts. In Matthew 7:7 Jesus says:

Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
If "every one who asks receives", then if we ask for cancer to be cured, it should be cured. Right? If "our Father who is in heaven gives good things to those who ask him", then if we ask him to cure cancer, he should cure it. Right? And yet nothing happens.

In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says:

For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

If "nothing will be impossible to you", then if we ask to cure cancer tonight, cancer should disappear. Right? Yet nothing happens. Note that if we take the Bible less-than-literally here, the statement "nothing will be impossible to you" becomes "lots of things will be impossible to you," and that would mean that Jesus is lying.

In Matthew 21:21:

I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

If "you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer", then if we ask to cure cancer tonight, cancer should dissappear. Right? Yet nothing happens. Note again that there is not a non-literal way to interpret "you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer", unless you replace "whatever" with "nothing" or "little."

The message is reiterated Mark 11:24:

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
If God says, "believe that you have received it, and it will be yours," and if we believe in God and his power, then what should happen if we pray to cure cancer tonight? It should be cured. Either that, or God is lying.
In John chapter 14, verses 12 through 14, Jesus tells all of us just how easy prayer can be:

"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Look at how direct this statement is: "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." This is the "Son of God" speaking. Have we taken him "too literally?" No. This is a simple, unambiguous statement. Have we taken his statement "out of context?" No - Jesus uses the word anyone. Yet Jesus' statement is obviously false. Because when we ask God to cure cancer tonight, nothing happens.
We see the same thing over and over again...

In Matthew 18:19 Jesus says:

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

In James 5:15-16 the Bible says:

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

In Mark 9:23:
All things are possible to him who believes.

In Luke 1:37:
For with God nothing will be impossible.

Nothing could be simpler or clearer than Jesus' promises about prayer in the Bible. Yet, when we pray to eliminate cancer, nothing happens.

And keep in mind that this is Jesus talking here. These are not the words of human beings. These are not the words of "inspired" human beings. These are supposedly the words of God himself, incarnated in a human body. Jesus is supposed to be a perfect, sinless being. And yet, it is obvious that Jesus is lying. What Jesus says is clearly incorrect.

Jesus is supposed to be God. God is supposed to be perfect.
When Jesus speaks, he should speak the truth.
Yet when we look at what Jesus says about prayer,
he is clearly lying.

If you would like additional proof, gather a million faithful believers together into a giant prayer circle. Have them all pray together in Jesus' name that God cures every case of cancer on the planet tomorrow. Pray sincerely, knowing that when God answers this completely heartfelt, unselfish, non-materialistic prayer, it will glorify God and help millions of people in remarkable ways. Now, we certainly have two or more people gathered together, and they have asked in Jesus' name, and we have not one but a million faithful believers who, by definition, have faith and believe. We have fulfilled every one of Jesus' requirements.

Will Jesus answer the prayer now? Of course not. Your prayer will go unanswered, in direct defiance to Jesus' promises in the Bible. In fact, if you pray for anything that is impossible, your prayer will always go unanswered.

If you are an intelligent, rational human being, all of the examples mentioned above show you that the God of the Bible is imaginary. What Jesus says about prayer in the Bible clearly is not true.

In fact, we have ample scientific evidence to demonstrate that the belief in prayer is nothing but pure superstition, as shown in the next proof...

Now if you would only turn it around & ask God to bring you into AGREEMENT with His word you just might get a response.

Think about that....

but there is another thing here that requires examination...

People's belief..what they belief varies... Jesus could do nothing sometimes because of people's unbelief. There were times when He kicked people out of rooms because of their unbelief too. You have to put yourself in a position to RECEIVE what God is saying & for His abundance. God says things don't happen because people really aren't believing Him...taking Him at His word.

I have been praying for unity in the spirit..for all men.. it's God's very spirit that brings us into unity...we can't do it ourselves or for anyone else for that matter. I hear you when you say it means nothing to you...how can it unless it's God breathed?

For myself...I had to ask God to bring me into agreement with HIM. We have to surrender our cares...everything to Christ then ask God to help us in our unbelief...bring us into agreement with Him. We must also start recieiving what God is saying to us.

It works...it really does. IF people give it the chance it deserves.

Many have tried and no responce! Not to get on your case, but many people are really looking for evidence or facts and not propaganda.

Can you honestly say that you have ever prayed KNOWING for a 100% fact that it would be answered? that is the faith i beleive he is talking about...and i honestly don't think that kind of faith is very common. But that's jmho

the last time God answered that prayer he cured everyone of cancer by drowning them in 40 days and 40 nights of non-stop raining

i hate to get pulled into a religious rant, but in this case i must...i fully agree, just saying if i bring god into my accord, he will answer my prayers...sorry, even when i did, 25 years ago when my son was born handicapped, god, in all his glory and overpowering righfulness, never answered my prayers...living is proof of acceptance, not faith....give me proof of all this glory, let me see the evidence as it affects all man kind, not just a chosen few of beleivers, then i might say prayer and god exists

asking for oneself is one thing.

asking for a blanket over the world of man is another. That is offered in Christ to the individual, whosoever will.

But then.....

Jesus had a lot to say, didn't he?

Let's not forget that in Christ it starts with oneself.

Take it to Him.

Remember also that you are bringing yourself to him as well.

What will God see that you don't already see about yourself?

He reads us quickly.

The soul and spirit are open to God in the one presenting oneself to God in prayer.

Let God prove God.

Let men prove themselves before God on their own merits, whatever they may be.

one on one.

In this regard, doubts have no place but in the soul and spirit of the one reaching for God on a personal level.

Then and only then can two or three agree, including God, Himself.

God is a must have in agreement.

Can that be left to the imagination of man without being answered in vain?\

If vanity is the core request, vanity is God.

Glorying in vanity is precisely the gulf between man and God.

Man needs a bridge to span the gulf between that sought and that given.

But if it is asked for, it is not given, but taken.

To take something is theft.

But to receive that which is given is thanksgiving offered in gratitude.

Does one approach my gifts without being thankful? Or yours?

And would any one of us not consider that any that would ask for the next gift also not be thought of as using us for what we offer and not who we are?

Likewise, approach God with the same respect and dignity that you exzpect of others to show you and you might just have what you seek.

For God also said in Jesus that you have not because you ask not and you ask amiss to heap upon your own lust things from God.

Being selective in ones judgemnt about taunting God at his word only mocks the one dong the mocking.

God is not mocked.

And mockery receives nothing.

Clearly the bible is false. There's no doubt about it.

It can't possible be true. It's absolutely impossible.

It conflicts with it's own proclamations.

The bible claims that God is unchanging

This is an absolute must because a God that changes is undependable, and therefore untrustworthy.

Yet the biblical account of God changes.

In the old testament,...

God so hated the world that he drowned out all of mankind

In the new testament,...

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son

Clearly it can't be true. It's an utterly inconsistent tale.

an ultimate truth is an amazing thing.

Some find it and others do not find it.

of course God is imaginary people! i like to know where did they find bibles! did they have computers back then or did they write everythin in stone!

Of course God is imaginary. You would have to have a imagination as great as God to understand him.

I found the ultimate truth to be the opposite of everything that the bible states. Not all things, of course. But the real truth to me, is that I love all people, regardless of their choice in faith or choice in lifestyle. This is my ultimate truth and I will die fighting for it, just the same as you will die defending the bible's inconsistancies.

The problem with community prayer is that all have to have the samemind set, I think. One must have no doubt for his prayer. One must truely believe that God is listening and has the power to do as they ask in the name of Jesus.

I have prayed for people in hospitals, but before I do I ask if everyone believes in God. That is so no negativity be where prayer is at work.

To each his own, but for me.....I have no choice but to believe.

To laugh at or say something is false is also according to you (whomever) as it is to me or someone who believes in God or prayer.
Respect should be given to all.

I believe we are all equal in mind, spirit and soul. The difference is in how we use it.
