Added to the 3.4 billion they've already paid out after the first appeal dropped it to 2.5 billion brings the total up to
3.9 billion. Thats getting pretty close to the original 5 billion that was ordered! Sound reasonable! They ruled SC and company couldnt execute child rapist today as well! That kinda pisses me off! They are also debating the DC gun ban this week. That is the really important and long awaited case of the 7 they are deciding! |

They may have paid out, but it wasn't spent on clean-up. Only 395,000 gallons of 11,000,000 spilled were recovered. That's not clean-up it's cover-up

The Alaska Draggers fishing fleet recovered most of the floating moose. Vessals would run through and cut sheets loose from the mass then oil skimmers could pick up the emmulcified oil. Exxons oil skimmer was out of service. |

Just think if something happened to an oil platform off the coast of Florida, GA, SC, or the outer banks here in NC!!

Exxon rented every warehouse, garage, house and vacant lot in the extended area. Made a big show spent a lot of money and recovered almost nothing. There big deal was BAG's of oil recovered. Take a large kleenex dab up an ounce of oil, put it in the bag. Twelve kleenex is a bag full.

I'm sure that after the mess in Prince William Sound oil spill booms would be used to contain the oil until it could be recovered. It certainly wouldn't take 30 day's to get started.

What scares me is the same people in charge of energy now are the ones taking over all of the altunative sorces. Even the batteries for Electric cars are being developed by the oil companys.

Supreme court overrules Exxon Valdez ruling. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25367638 Well, plaintiff's always ask for more than what they KNOW they will get. Just a ploy used. Not saying that Exxon should not be penalized, just that the common lay person does not know all the in's and out's of lawsuits. |

What scares me is the same people in charge of energy now are the ones taking over all of the altunative sorces. Even the batteries for Electric cars are being developed by the oil companys. Yes this worried me also. I believe this is why researching obvious sources of energy like wind, waves & solar is not not a priority. How could they monopolize the sun? |
