humble beginnings and that dont make her any more special than any body on here . i grew up in a family of 11 . my mom raised the 4 youngest by her self . maybe not lawyers , that is not what we wanted to be. most of that time in a 2 b. r. we all do pretty well .

I grew up on a 35 acre farm and house only had 2 bedrooms and we had water from an underground spring, and my mother had no dryer, she had to hang clothes on a clothesline outside in summer, in basement in winter. She baked our bread, no storebought bread, made my clothes. Do I come from humbleness?

My 73 year old mother got addicted to pain killers prescribed for her fibromyalgia. Are you saying MY MOTHER is not a good person and did not care?

I understand what your saying. Im just pointing out that as far as comparing potential first ladies go, Mrs.Obama has a definate advantage. It takes some serious spin to make it look any other way.

B- Like me you are White
C- I remember black and white tv, no washing machine or dryer too. Few in those days had them!
D- The same thing with the bread and clothes! Although we did buy 4 outfits a year, we had to travel 40 miles to get them and only got new ones once a year!

For the times Id say you had a pretty normal and very good life!

i had to take my own chances , idont care what color you are . ihad very good friend of mine died this who happened to be black ,at one time i worked for him for 2 1/2 years ! he worked hard to have his own auto repair shop . his mom and my mom worked in the same sewing plant . but if you are joking about being black it is not funny !

On NPR, it was reported the two women wearing head scarfs were asked to move out from behind Mr. Obama during a event where photographs were being taken. It was felt that the women would infer a Muslim support of Obama, or that he aligns himself with that.

"Was" is the correct word. We all have mistakes in our past, present and future.
